I was hoping for something like BF1942 or BF:BC2, with all of the hype behind the dynamic battlefields and GIGANTIC scope. What I got was a 5K simulator, the problem I had right out of the gate is that if you don't have a vehicle, you are going to be spending some TIME getting from point to point. There is no quick travel, you can't cook your grenades to suicide. You are stuck running, hoping that someone sees you to kill you. I did quickly find that even if you want to FPS, if there is a vehicle available for you to spawn with, spawn with it.

The game felt grand, but it also felt like little I did mattered. You barely ever get res'd, which I knew going in. The amount of guns is extremely lackluster (we will still have AK47s in 2042, that's 21 years from now). I'd sneak to take a point, someone would spawn on me on the way, and then we would get rolled by 10 or so people.

The Hazard Zone game mode is rather uninspired, was kinda fun to win, but definitely wasn't a Battle Royale when you can get through the game only seeing 2 squads.

The most fun I had hands down was playing El Alamein in Portal, and it was only for 5 minutes. I think most of us didn't want something new, we wanted an improvement on the formula, an iteration with refinement, but what we got is cobbled and so much worse.
