If you are coming from Hollow Knight, this game does many things better than it (movement, scale, variety, spectacle) many things different than it (i.e.: combat, story structure, vibes and npcs), and a few things worse than it (i.e.: lore, world cohesion, difficulty balance, superfluous fetch quests) . It is still fantastic and you are going to buy it anyway.
If you aren't coming from Hollow Knight then go play Hollow Knight.

Truthfully, this game is not really my type of game, but it still kept me entertained and invested. There is a lot of inventory and resource/time management here which isn't what I usually like, but the story, setting and atmosphere were good enough to keep me going, and I can understand why many people really love this game.
Although it is closer to a 3 stars for my tastes, I do not think it deserves anything less than 3.5, maybe even 4.

Hauntii is a very fun, mid-sized game which is supported by a very beautiful art-style and soundtrack.
It's an isometric twin-stick shooter exploration collectathon with a possession mechanic which allows the player to control different objects and sometimes characters. This allows the devs to introduce new mechanics fairly often, which keeps the exploration and combat interesting.
The story is simple, as is most of the game, but the presentation keeps it engaging throughout, supported by a few whimsical characters and fun writing. There are presentation aspects that felt reminiscent of Paper Mario and Tunic, which I enjoyed.
During my playthrough I've encountered a few minor bugs, and sometimes it can be difficult to orient yourself or distinguish different elements due to the limited color palette, but nothing that really impacted the enjoyment too much. Only one time I ran into a soft-lock but closing and re-opening the game fixed it.
(p.s.: The contrast between black and white can be a little harsh on the eyes, turning the screen brightness down and keeping sessions short helped.)
Overall a pretty great game, though I wish it were a bit longer.

Very fun and polished game. Smooth action, pretty environments, good level design, fun concept and execution, decent enough challenge, the music is okay.
Only downside is its very short length.

The perfect blend between Zelda and twin-stick shooters.

Minishoot's incredible tight level and world design, smooth controls, and great visual clarity in its design guarantee that the flow of exploration keeps consistently enjoyable. The artstyle is very charming and the animations are full of life, and the music is fantastic. Combat is fun and intuitive, and the items and abilities the player obtains along the way serve not only for traversal but for the combat as well.

All in all, if you are a fan of Zelda, and you enjoy or don't mind shooters, this is a game that you can easily play for many hours straight and will be difficult to put down.
