Easily one of the greatest science fiction stories I have ever experienced. Impossibly layered themes and concepts, both intimate and existential, tied together in a joyous union. The voice acting was brilliant, and helped bring the world and characters to life, and the music is phenomenal. I highly recommend this game for fans of complex and engaging science fiction stories.

Early Access Review
While my review was quite negative before, Patch 9 has improved the game significantly for me. While not every bug is fixed, there were some notable ones fixed. Performance and stability has never felt better, and the combat continues to improve.

Regarding combat, the parrying feels much more responsive and useful. Enemy hitboxes don't seem to be desync'd like they were last patch. Other improvements have also improved combat feedback and weight. The last few patches went one step forward, two steps back. This patch is a solid step forward.

Aside from the patch, Daimon Blades is a really fun roguelite RPG that has amazing art direction, sound design, atmosphere and everything else you love about Streumon if you're a fan of E.Y.E. I'd recommend it right now if you don't mind the bugs and glitches (nothing really terrible), or if you're willing to offer the devs feedback.

I played through this game with some friends and had a good time but having played it solo I realise this isn't because the game is good, it's just that I enjoy playing games with my friends. Everything in this game seems like it is designed to waste your time. The movement speed, the item drops and resource gathering, etc. The combat itself feels pretty awful since the cooldowns are all designed for PvP, which makes the PvE a slog. The game does have excellent castle building mechanics, but all of the best castle decorations are locked behind DLC. It's a shame because I really wanted to like this game and it can be fun with the right people. Sadly, I don't think I can recommend this unless you have a group who is willing to play it.

Early Access Review
Really fun Immersive Sim with the Consumer Softproducts style you know and love. Obviously since it is Early Access there are some rough edges and the game can initially feel more unapproachable than Cruelty Squad, but with some practice and reading you'll find a game with lots to love.

The Mech customisation is great, with your varieties of light to heavy mechs being viable options. Character building and gear allows you to play more aggressive or stealthy, with gear and weaponry allowing you to tackle problems from a variety of angles. Combat is fast and deadly. It is extremely difficult at the start, but using your knowledge, a good strategy and the right gear/mech will let you overcome any challenge.

The writing is amazing, and the quest design is solid. I think some quests could use a few more Log updates to keep the player on track, but as a whole it works well and even in those cases just going to important NPCs you have met and seeing if they have anything new to say is enough.

Performance wise this ran better than I was expecting. Despite being a smaller game, Cruelty Squad as a whole runs much worse for me. I was a little worried when I experienced a crash pretty early on, but after beating what is currently in the game that was the only crash.

I am really excited to see where this game goes during it's early access and I am highly anticipating the full release. I will also update this review when that day comes.

A short, but excellent game with amazing atmosphere, music, artwork and some really fun movement mechanics when you get the hang of them. The most surprising mechanic was the companion system, it's such a wonderfully unique system and made my journey that much more memorable.

A minor issue I had was some inconsistent performance on max settings, but it was never terrible performance and it never impacted the game-play.

This game is an easy recommendation and is definitely worth picking up.

Solid JRPG experience and probably the best entry point for newcomers. Combat system is great, music is catchy and energetic, bosses are well designed, etc. From a game-play standpoint you really can't go wrong and there are so many fun party setups and builds you can play with.

I do have a few issues but none are deal breaking.
These include;
1. The side-quests are numerous and are mostly boring.
2. The story in Canon Route isn't that good and while the Vengeance Route story is good, it's not amazing.
3. The alignment system is mid.

Overall I do recommend the game, you can't go wrong with a little post apocalyptic demon mayhem.

It's a classic for a reason.
Excellent dungeon crawling, simple but intuitive and combat system, etc. This is all on top of great art direction, a unique OST and ethereal story.
The port could use some work, a 30fps lock and old crunchy OST could hurt the experience. The turn based nature of the game means the 30fps isn't hurting your reaction times and there is a great mod that restores the OST audio quality.
With those in mind I cannot stress how great this game is and I would high recommend playing the Maniax/Chronicle versions for the extra content.

Games like this remind me of why I love video games and the stories they can tell. Anyone who doesn't play and beat this game is doing themselves a massive disservice. Go in blind and experience the best game of 2022.

One of the greatest Fromsoft games ever made, probably my favourite alongside Sekiro. Great customisation, action, set-pieces, music, characters and narrative. There is no better feeling than going back to S rank the missions and annihilate all those bosses that gave you trouble on the first playthrough. It may all seem overwhelming at first but once you get the hang of it the game really isn't that hard. Highly recommend for fans of action games, mecha and/or Fromsoftware.
