It's the updated Jane's Fleet Command to CMANO's updated Harpoon.

It still has some UX and UI issues, it is still buggy, it still lacks some features. But it is so much better than anything else that has been out there in this space since Dangerous Waters.

A return to the greatest sim games. A middle ground of complexity between the arcade-y Ace Combat types and the rivet counting of DCS. You'll find surprisingly complex systems for a sim that is very readily enjoyed with a gamepad. Get it. Get your friends to get it - they'll be up and flying in minutes. And then have a blast doing co-op missions.

A nice fantasy battle game, where you feel like you're playing a classic White Dwarf battle report. Neat little roguelike campaign concept and plenty of forces to choose from.

And if that was all there was to it - it would be getting a big thumbs up.

Some people will complain that it is a rip-off of certain tabletop systems. All rulesets steal from other rulesets. But the rules we get here - both as rules choices as well as video game accessibility choices are unique enough (though still incomplete given the manual) and fast playing. Which is what you want.

BUT - the unit art is AI generated. So on top of being stolen and burning through resources like crazy, it has no cohesive look and in some cases can be really bad.

It is a free game, but with it seeming to be rising in popularity I would really hope the dev can build some art commissioning into their budget going forward. Which would rapidly swing this back to an unmitigated recommend.

Is it as good as Vampire Survivors? No.

Is it different and fun in it's own way? Yes.

A really creative and clever take on the roguelike. Huge recommend. Stupidly good.
