Fantastic!

The only complaints are:
1. no item boxes (weapons you don't want to use must be sold and extra items must be abandoned).
2. very asanine design to not use ESC as a universal back/cancel and not let players bind it (to exit game you press DEL).

Good "horror" game? maybe... (I found myself tense but never scared)
Good "Resident Evil" game? 1000% NO!!

It feels like an overcorrection from RE6, with boring gameplay and bad puzzles.
I waited years to play this with VR on PC (which Capcom will never do) and finally gave up to play it normally...
I wish I was in the refund window.
Complete letdown as a someone who owns every game in the series previously including the newer remakes. (some 2 or 3 times)


TL;DR
If you can't get enough horror games and love first person, go ahead.
If you like RE because of the story and gameplay, hard pass.

Poor design, Puzzles with no hints, an overtuned boss.
Is the game playable? Yes.
Is it Beatable? Yes.
Is it fun? Not really.

Not a metroidvania in any way!
