This was my first traditional-style fighting game after playing smash ultimate, and I have to say that its 10x more fun than games like street fighter. In this game, it rewards you for being aggressive and making the moves and has a couple of really fun mechanics to back that up such as the tension meter. The tension meter builds up as you hit people when you land a hit on a enemy, whether they are blocking or not, this leads to:

Red roman cancelling, which is a button you can press to extend your combos or link one of your moves into something else which is really fun in combo trials and learning new routes.

Purple roman cancelling, which slows down your enemies during the recovery frames of an attack, so it makes a move that is punishable even more so.

They also have defensive uses which you can use as a 'get off me' tool with yellow roman cancel

Not only is there this, but players are rewarded for backing their opponent into a corner and hitting them. You can do something called a 'Wall break', this happens when you hit a enemy against a wall multiple times, it can then break the wall and give you a tension meter boost (allowing you to use your roman cancels and super more!) as well as dealing great damage to an enemy and putting you in advantage.

This means that the game has a lot more depth to it than other more simple traditional fighting games but also rewards players for interacting with each other a lot more than waiting for your opponent to make a mistake.

Not only are the games mechanics really fun and well-tunes but the character art and design is incredible. All of the characters look stunning and so do their moves, making the game really easy on the eyes with especially the stages as well which is really fun.

The soundtrack is incredible, the music running throughout the game really creating an epic feel and making you feel pumped up to go in and beat your enemy up with the heavy amount of up-beat rock/heavy metal music that is included in the game.

The game also includes something that is quite unique to me in my experience of fighting games. It includes a 'dojo' section. This puts you through mini-levels in which you can complete to learn the different mechanics of the game and the niches of them as well in more advanced versions of the dojo since there are beginner, intermediate and expert levels. This helped me greatly in learning the game, instead of relying on dodgy youtube videos that can sometimes be very confusing.

There's also other standard things such as training mode and being able to play against CPU's etc...

Oh and online has rollback too! Which makes it a LOT more enjoyable of an experience to play online, feels really nice especially if you're playing against someone in the same country (from my experience). And the game also now has crossplay as well, meaning that PC and Console users can combat against each other, so if your friend is lacking a good PC or a PC at all/ Console then you can still play with each other which is really neat.

All in all, I would heavily recommend this game to you if you just wanna pick up a unique fighting game thats really fun, especially with friends close to your skill level. Or, if you want to grind it its also really fun as well being able to climb through the ranking system as well.

Its really fun, give it a go I'd say, cause I was at first quite reserved but it was a great decision in the end and I don't regret purchasing at all
