By far the most toxic community (not just gaming) I have ever been a part of. Worst part is the behavior system as it pairs you with people who they believe to be within your behavior score. Avoiding toxicity? Keep quiet because anything you say and do will be used against you. Say nothing at all? Don't worry, you'll be reported reducing your behavior score over time. Use pings and in-game emotes to communicate? You'll be reported for that as well. Communicate effectively and in a positive manner? They will find a reason to report you for communicating too well. Don't worry, abuse of the report system for any infraction (or not) is highly utilized and those who abuse the report system suffer ZERO consequences. Either way, you're doomed.

Once that score drops you'll be partied relentlessly with all sorts of clowns; from throwing games and feeding kills leading to a snowball loss, outright feeding the strongest items in the game to the other team, dumping off your vision (wards) off at the enemy base or plopping them all on the same spot on the map, consistent jungle farming with no game play, and any other form of throwing possible. You're rank will go from one of the highest ranks back down to the lowest of the low; good luck getting back up until they reset your rank if you go below 1,800.

Oh, and did I mention half the community is 100% real AI Bots? DOTA is the testing grounds for AI so unless you have a party of 5, expect some crazy stuff. On a winning streak? Don't worry, you'll have a losing streak that wipes out all that progress and then some. Also, you will have your account flagged for smurfing, reducing your behavior score, your rank and they will continue to party you with, you guessed it, other smurfing accounts or complete dunces.

Been playing this game since 2014 and it's addictive, like crack cocaine addictive because of the false illusion of progress; just to have it ripped right from under you. Can't think of another game like it. If you're looking for a game to waste time and your life away, this is the game for you. Be like me and wonder after 80% of the games why you continue to play; it's for 5% of the decent matches in case you were wondering. Leave for a year or two, come back and you'll get a reminder why you left. Be ready to dedicate your life to this game because you're not getting anywhere.

Finally get a good match? No you didn't. You just inherited yourself a Mexican or a Russian who doesn't speak a lick of English because he's running from his servers to US servers to avoid the very same issues he is providing to his teammates. All it takes is 1 teammate AFK or throw the game, even with a near perfect game, for the stupidest reasons and you just lost the match because the consequences are near existent for real infractions. Don't believe me? Find out yourself.

The only real positive thing is the microtransactions. Granted they have a lot of them avaliable BUT . . . none of them effect actual gameplay so that's nice. Skins, sound packs and other cosmetic microtransactions. You will have plenty to choose from too because it seems like every couple of weeks, a new skin is avaliable and some of these skins go for HUNDREDS of dollars if you're willing to pay abnormal amounts of money for each season pack and the keys needed to unlock all these damn chests. If you get lucky, you'll get something worth some serious money. Don't count on it though as a full time job. You'll make fractions of pennies for your time spent.

Seriously though, find another game.
