Atlantica Online is a unique MMO with a turn based strategy system.

To set expectations: This game is old - it shows in graphics, in-engine problems, slow content updates and old/bad UI.


So why would you play this game?

This game has one of the best battle systems ever.

Classic PvE battles is you and your mercenaries (up to 9 characters) vs a group of up to 3x9 enemies.
There are also raids/skirmishes/tactical battle system where you have to move your mercenaries over a grid-like field (similar to Fire Emblem)

PVP:
I love PVP in this game. There are 4 different modes that are worth mentioning:

Free League: Your Level, Magic Skill lvl, Gear will matter in a 1 v 1 against human opponents - This is also the format used for weekly/seasonal tournaments and is the most popular format.

Colosseum League: You bring your own mercenaries. Gear, Magic skill lvl is not relevant in this mode.

AoA: You draft your own formation by banning mercenaries and then picking a main and mercenaries to your liking. Every stat is predetermined.

Spelltower: Similar to Free League, in this mode your gear/lvl is relevant. This mode is a 50 vs 50 players (server vs server) attack/protect the castle mode. It is only happening on saturdays and gives good rewards as well as a server wide buff for the winner.

Story:
This game actually has a decent story.
You will be playing through a huge story questline (if you want to) with a decent, all text-based story.
The world you are playing in is similar to the real world. You will be learning about Atlantians, Oriharukon and monsters gone mad.

Chat experience:
The steam servers are used primarily by english, spanish or indo speaking players.
Depending on the server you chose, you might have a different experience.
Guilds are available in almost every language on every server you are looking to play in.
