It's kinda hard to review an early-access game since a lot of stuff can be irrelevant in later patches and the fact that the game isn't ready yet can make people shutdown critcism, so consider this more of a warning if you plan on buying the game as of the time of this review. I'm about to ♥♥♥♥ on the game but I like it overhaul, but some issues can make it very frustrating. Also most of my play time is "out of steam".

The early progression is really smooth until you reach the first ores, after that I feel like the game doesn't respect you time.

Collecting ore is a very long process that I find satisfiying overhaul. However, you need a LOT of materials and can take hours of grinding to craft and upgrade gear, just so it gets immediately irrelevant after killing the boss of the area, I can only justify the amount of time it takes to get enough materials for the next stage of progression as padding to extend the early access. Unless you skip it by rushing weapons and not getting hit by the boss, which is the way I usually do it.

It's really awful to upgrade gear made from metals. For reference It takes 150 iron to make iron armor of which takes 75 minutes of constant melting to be done, not counting mining, hauling or making coal just so it stays on par with first level silver armor(the next tier). Upgrading most of the tools, weapons and armor feels like a waste since the next tier is just better most of the time and you also need to craft/build other stuff with the metals. The game feels slow in a very artificial and frustrating way right now and it's been like this for a very long time.

It's been 3 years since the game launched on steam and it still feels very raw, very minor QOL features missing, materials that craft only one item, clunky combat, etc. These seem minor but they add up very quick when you also need to grind so much.

Pretty good. Recommend you look for "VIva New Vegas" if it's your first time playing.
