Someone else said they didn't know why they kept coming back to this game and I'd agree. I don't usually post reviews but this is the first time in a long time that I've actually "finished" a game.

It gets 2 steps colder, then one step warmer. With the exception of some minor breaks, it just keeps getting colder and colder while you make a variety of choices to find and keep refugee's and keeping the peace. But with each group you choose to save you must deal with their food and shelter, hope and discontent. Expanding rapidly while also stocking up on supplies. Every aspect is fairly easy but they also go hand in hand making the whole task fairly hard.

I would not call the game "static" but there is a pattern and of course various locations are reused each game play, with a couple of events you run into being more of a coin flip. The location of your city is not dynamic at all however, so with each play through you will know how to make the better choices on building placement.

Well, despite some of it's flaws which I intended to write about, my itch to play again will prevent this.

This game sure did get off on the wrong foot, but I have been interested in it since the beginning despite the hate but could not justify the $60 price tag. When it was on sale for $23 I bought it immediately and certainly don't regret it. I truely can appreicate the continued effort by Hello Games to work on this game instead of dumping it but let's be serious here. The game is not worth $60, it's just too repetitive and I've only put in 19 hours so far which might be more like 16 actually played.

The graphics is pretty nice, although I have experienced 4 crashes, twice while it was in the background minimized and twice while I was playing.

The gameplay, despite being repetitive is intriguing. I do enjoy the exploration, and it's simple enough to just go out and do things though having to constantly refuel can be a sore, plus inventory management. With that said, if I didn't have to refuel I wouldn't have any reason to mine out items so I don't know. It's wierd but not cruel like other games such as FTL or The Long Journey Home. There also seems to be a bug dealing with the "Cargo" of the backpack so I've lost 2 upgrades from drop pods I've found becuase of this.

There is some story that I haven't explored enough yet, I'll update this review at a later date once I've played more but I just have to say that this is not a $60 game. I hope it will be however, it has more promise now than when it first came out.
