a game not for everyone for sure: but if you dont mind a little repetition and a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ fishing game which means life or death than this game might be enjoyable

in my opinion, this game can be a $15 dollar game if you enjoy it enough, but id recommend get it on sale

Do you ever finish a game, knowing that your life has changed forever? Knowing that you have fundamentally changed as a person, that you can never go back to who you were before you played it? I have. Not often, but a few times. And I'm proud to say that The Return of The Obra Dinn (RoTOB) has been added to that list.

This is not a "game". A game is a mature endeavor, a test of investigation and visualizations for pure entertainment. RoTOB is a transcendental experience. In fact, when people debate whether games should count as art, they purposefully omit RoTOB; everyone knows that RoTOB is art, and to debate it would be foolish.

The characters are interesting, funny, and have genuine moments. I've never seen still characters this 3 dimensional. They feel like real people, and the voice actors really drive this home. This game creates better characters then big budget blockbusters do now 'n days. The plot is intriguing and satisfying. The art is beautiful. The music is incredible. The stills are perfect, and this game would not be nearly as intriguing or the same if it was animated.

If you play this game, know that you have entered a world you may never leave. RoTOB will follow you forever, informing every decision you make and constantly reminding you of its important life lessons. I say this not as a warning, but as an endorsement.

In conclusion, I would like to discuss my beliefs. Some have asked me why I suddenly started believing in a higher power after playing a nautical visual masterpiece. The real question is, will you? Personally, I don't believe that RoTB could be created by mortal men, and it serves as perfect evidence that we did not evolve from stupid monkeys who wouldn't know a good drama, thriller, and "what would I do?" story if it traded bananas with them.

Play this game, and don't watch a video essay before hand: you will regret it.
