Wallpaper Engine!

The most fun I've had 'personalizing' my PC in some time.

There have been numerous eye candy iterations for the Windows Desktop over the years, from RainMeter and Stardock's Object Desktop to name a couple, all the way to DreamScenes and the Vista Slideshow app. And then comes along Wallpaper Engine, a system which features not just videos on the desktop, but interactivity, streaming data, web apps, unity creations, and much more!

You have virtually no limits on the amount of excellent ways to use this piece of software, there are audio visualizers, game and movie wallpapers, and much, much more.

Being a graphics and video guy myself, I have an appreciation for this, and have already experimented on my own computer using a small mp4 file with audio as my desktop. Wallpaper Engine presented it beautifully, and I think, based on this experiment that you will soon be seeing all sorts of clan/community/club submissions as more and more people find this (CHEAP!) app and begin to make content for it.

Truly a five star application, and I totally understand why it's Steam's most popular app this week!

Easily one of the greatest games ever produced, Half-Life 2 continued the gameplay of the original Half-Life with updated graphics, a more involved plot, and more developed characters. Every time you think this game might be mostly finished, there's a new mission to complete. Sometimes you're fighting alien life-forms, sometimes you're fighting the Combine, but mostly you're fighting human nature, and the will to power.

This game was highly anticipated before it's release, and people still pine for a sequel. With or without a continuing story sequel, HL2 is one of the best overall games that has ever been produced, hands down.
