Really great first iteration. Takes you by surprise just how tactical and good the game feels.

TLDR: Atrocious ship balancing - Save yourself the time and play something else.

How can you have a game with so many unbalanced ships? Teleporting ships, ships that are unkillable, ships that fly over terrain...

For a supposed skill-based game, there's actually very little skill involved. Farm until you get one of the ships then just go do troll ♥♥♥♥ the entire game.

Less than 150 players at the moment and I'm surprised it's even that many with the current state of the game.

It's such a shame as it could have been really fun, if it was done better. Maybe in a year or two with some competent feedback and development, it might be worth a revisit.

Save yourself some boredom and find something else to play.

Pros:
Good concept
Large area to roam and explore

Cons:
Not a game to play solo. Unless you have a group then it's pointless even trying to play.
Very little loot is generated. Including weapons.
You get stuck at random places and can't move, meaning you have to suicide.
Sound isn't the greatest but it's sufficient.
Crafting system isn't fantastic and with very little loot, quite underwhelming.

In only 40 minutes, I looted for 30 and fought 3 teams of players, only seeing one other solo player.

Avoid unless you have a group to play with as it's very boring without one.

I had over 5000 hours in Call of Duty 2 Rifles Only, played many tournaments, lans, etc. This is my opinion:

I was beyond excited that someone fully intended to bring back the amazing gameplay from the earlier CoD series, specifically mentioned was CoD2, my favourite FPS game of all time. For the time, it was beyond polished, with perfect movement and aiming which relied fully upon skill and reflexes.

For those who don't know, CoD2 was very much about jumping around corners, going prone and hoping you hit them before they hit you. It was similar in RO, except it was mostly done without using your ironsights. Hip-firing was extremely accurate and once you got good, it was a lot quicker than ADS.

That is what I was hoping for in this game, but it doesn't deliver. As of right now (02/02/18), the game feels like any other FPS on the market, perhaps on par with free FPS games such as Black Squad.

The lack of fluidity in movement and ADS causes this game to fall far short of my expectations. Due to this, camping is very prevalent and only requires reflexes, with very little skill involved. If someone peeks you and you're ready, they're dead, regardless of how good you are. In CoD2, it relied heavily on skill in an engagement like this, since you'd actually have to adjust your aim. Unfortunately, with this lack of fluidity, aiming is trash, and you can't even jump without it feeling clunky.

As of today, I would not recommend this product for anyone, even old-timer CoD2 fanatics. Instead, save your money and play one of the many free FPS games on the market today.

It pains me that this was probably the last chance for a CoD2 remake.
