They have a lot to add in the form of content, but the base framework of the game that is in place currently will lead to an amazing game. I honestly didn't read up much before hopping in, but we had a lot of fun overcoming the environments, learning the mechanics, and defeating the enemies. The combat style uses familiar riposte and dodge roll mechanics and feels very fluid. The building system requires either forethought in the form of structural supports, or generous application during afterthought, if you want to build anything of magnitude. Food and water mechanics are consistent, but neither are difficult to procure, especially once you get past the campfire. I'm very interested to see what they do with it by the time it releases.

I loved this game and played it almost nonstop before it released, and to be honest, back then it was a buggy mess that left my items disappearing and me flying through the stratosphere many times. It was a tragedy that I loved. In the almost ninety updates since then I have lost most of my friends due to their inability to kill a bear and being frustrated with it, but the game is now what I always hoped it might be. If you're coming in at this point and considering whether to play this game or not, I would tell you to purchase it immediately. If you're considering coming back, know that most of the things we screamed and raged about in the before times have been remedied. It's a solid game that started out a little rough, but after 89 week of consistently being updated AND improved it's definitely one that's more than worth the money if you enjoy survival games.
