The premise and first few hours are definitely enjoyable. The inspiration from vampire survivors and Risk of Rain is unmistakable, and even if obvious if you enjoyed those games the initial hours of this game will be enjoyable to you.

To me, there's two major problems with this game ATM. A lack of meaningful permanent upgrades, and balancing. Whilst you can unlock weapons as you go, and there's technically an upgrade system in place with silver you earn in between runs. These upgrades boil down to unlock more weapon slots and the ability to reroll upgrades in runs. The slots you'll have filled within an hour or two of playing, making that feel like more of a tutorial time to get to know the game before being overwhelmed. And the rerolling doesnt feel like a proper upgrade. This makes it to there's no proper sense of progression through the game. There's challenges you can do to earn more silver, but i've done about 3 of the 100 challenges and already have no need for the silver anymore. Also the challenges boil down to the same 3 difficulty increases basically.

Secondly and more problematic is the balancing. Some weapons are extremely unuseable, so the variance between builds makes it so only really 2 or 3 builds are viable. But more importantly you are WAY too fragile, especially on the second of the two stages in this game. With enough practice it took me about 35 runs to get consistently to the final boss of the stage, and even when literally taking every HP buff, evasion, armour and shield upgrades when going for a full TANK build, the final boss still about 3 shot me with multiple aoe effects going on. This just makes you feel extremely fragile, and the final boss way way wayyyyy too hard to make for an enjoyable experience.

If the balancing got fixed, and more meaningful progression got added this would definitely be a recommendation. Otherwise i wouldnt recommend anyone to buy this as it currently stands.

extremely addicting, great open world experience, great dialogue. 100 hours in and im only 50% through the game on my first playthrough, and i could play at least 5 playthroughs and experience the game differently.

Barely explained progression system, too dumb and a LOT of wait time which you can conveniently bypass with purchases
