DO NOT -- I repeat -- DO NOT BUY THIS GAME UNLESS YOU WANT TO THROW YOUR MONEY AWAY!

They company that owns KSP 2 has been bought by a private equity firm. No good can come of this. The game shouldn't even be listed on Steam IMHO.

It really sucks to write this because KSP 1 is one of my all time favorite games that I've put well over 1,000 hours into. Few games give you that feeling of accomplishment when you first land on the Mun or reach Eeloo with 63 Kerbals that have no chance in returning home.

Wish I could refund this title. Steam denied it long ago due to too much time played. AWFUL AWFUL game.

Text in game interface too small for me to read. Attempted to correct using advice on Reddit and all game settings.

Apparently this has been an issue since game release but nothing has been done to address concerns. I love factory building games but if it's a struggle to read the text to figure out how to play then it's simply not going to work out.

So I paid for Prologue and I'm expected to pay again for the "Full release?"

This game was quite a bit of fun when I first purchased it and for awhile after that.

However with recent updates it has become apparent that the developers don't do much play testing before they push out updates.

There have been so many changes to the core gameplay and how engines work that it's difficult to keep up with and make working ships. The advanced mode content was a very welcome change but has since become a chore as electricity generator, propeller function, and gearboxes received a large nerf.

Just today the devs released an update where vehicles spawn without fuel and require filling before setting sail. They added a filling station to the stock island but you can't even get the fuel connector over the railing on the side of your boat slip. Not to mention that once you get it hooked up you have to climb all the way back up to the tank to start the filling process.

This just demonstrates their obvious lack of play testing of their own updates. This combined with the fact that they push these updates out on Fridays when a lot of people have time to play on the weekends just leads to mounting frustration with this game.

Seriously.... Give it a pass until it's out of early access. Maybe the devs will get their act together and push less "first-pass" content.

TLDR

Awesome game! Bought it a few days ago and am already hooked. I'ev encountered 0 crashes and 0 bugs. Everything works as intended. If it's not working then you probably need to try reengineering things.

One thing that seriously hurts is the low draw distance. Especially when looking for resources. This should be priority one for the devs.

For those that feel like reading I'll frame one of the highlights in the best and most relatable way I know how.

Sol 3

So I had to reload my save for the first time today. I don't know which engineer came up with that but it's a godsend! I've rebuilt the hab and secured constant automatic charging for my suit's battery. Yay computer programming! Next on the plan of me not dying is oxygen.

I'd filled the hab with the oxygen sent with me and was working on the best way to get my suit's bottle refilled. I setup an active vent to a pipe and a bottle refilling bracket. Everything was going smoothly until I realized I hadn't put a presure gauge on the pipe leading to my only spare O2 bottle. Moments later (you should be expecting this) the bottle exploded right over my head! The explosion threw me across the hab and tore several large holes in my suit.

With alarms blaring in my ears I shook off the shellshock and realized my suit was puking oxygen to the hab. I quickly patched that up with half a roll of duct tape (it really should be worshipped) and assessed the situation. My suit's O2 bottle was down to 300 kPa! I rushed around for a few hours trying to fashion a replacement bottle to fill with O2 before asphyxiating.

Man... what a day. I wonder what tomorrow will bring.

I loved this game.

I forgave Overkill when they rewarded the community's hard work with what amounts to a movie tie-in. I forgave Overkill when they started rolling out paid DLC almost every other week. I even forgave them for the entire Hype-train debacle.

Their latest update involving micro-transactions IN A PAID GAME and a weapon "re-balance" that makes almost no sense. As well as one more blatant lie to the community and I'm done.

Just look at the playtime of the recent negative reviews and you'll see I'm not the only one that feels this way.

I really used to love this game. Now its become Pay to win and Overkill isn't even attempting to mask their greed any longer.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME. Even if the developer rolls out the changes made today, they'll still find another way to screw everyone.
