Let me first say that the fact "Adam: Lost Memories" was able to be released a fully finished product is amazing given the fact that it was basically done by one person. I came across a playthrough of an early build of the game done by the YouTuber John Wolfe and was instantly drawn to the Amnesia-esqe gameplay. The horror in the game did not rely on jumpscares, but was instead more subtle in its approach. Just a simple head peeking from around a corner, with no loud music accent, jumpscared me much more than actual jumpscare horror games. Although I did not find the enemy to be much of a threat, when it did show up, I found the encounters to be heart pounding. The puzzles a found to be a mix between physics based "Amnesia" puzzles and inventory puzzles. I actually really enjoyed the puzzles. Most of the time they weren't too brainless while not being to cryptic, and I found there to be a certain joy in finally figuring them out. The puzzles made the game not just another walking simulator. I thought that the overall story shown in flashbacks wrapped up beautifully. I would recommend this game to anyone who likes "Amnesia" or Amnesia-like games like "Lethe".
