DBD is insufferable on many levels, at least in its current state. I mean i do have lots of joyful memories from playing it and even made lots of friends on it, but now i cant even launch it because EAC doesnt wanna initialize apparently? i tried most "solutions" (from reinstalling, verifying files, restarting PC/steam to other more detailed processes) that i found from forums and threads online, but nothing helps. also BHVR takes excruciatingly long to even respond to tickets, so dont bother. when i do get a response, its usually automated and honestly borders on brainless. so wow thanks, ill just have to wait a few weeks for any upcoming updates (if those r even gonna help, mind u). heard some people say that factory resetting ur pc should work, i dont doubt it, but i am also NOT wiping everything off of mine just to be able to access a game i paid for, its out of the question. I cannot just manually install fresh EAC on my own for DBD either, because their website does not provide an installer or anything at all. I attempted to use the EAC folder from some other game, because that somehow worked for a few people i talked with, but for me, that was just as useless as anything else i tried before that.


well but anyway, besides the fact that this whole thing with DBD having endless bugs at all times is blatantly ridiculous on its own, no one should be expected to go to crazy lengths and wait for months for a simple anticheat to run correctly, yet here we are...and if this issue is due to the EAC itself being faulty and not about the DBD devs, then by all means, please excuse me. but then again, i doubt its about the EAC and epic devs themselves, because at the end of the day, the other games that i play which use EAC as well, initialize & work perfectly fine, but okay! btw my actual error message is just a simple "EAC client cannot be instantiated" and everything i said above is fully unique to my experience and my pc.


as for the gameplay or whatever really, i suppose its all fine. for me personally, solo q is unbearable due to how the matchmaking appears to hook multiple people with different skill levels into the same lobbies (im pretty sure that the DBD matchmaking prioritizes fast lobby matching, not so much putting people with similar escape rates together). there has seemingly also been a spike in all the griefing happening in matches, so im not surprised many people just DC, i dont wanna interact with hackers and trolls either, so a team full of friends appears to be the only way to play it rn.
