So good!! I cannot wait for the full release of the game! I haven't gotten out of the island yet but I'm having fun!
It'd be cool to have a bit better character customization and I don't think I saw beard options,

My only gripes is that combat is pretty wonky. To get better you need EXP which ONLY is adquired through quest completion instead of also earning smaller amounts through resources and whatnot, and I've found myself dying over and over to a single boar because I can only attack thrice before I'm winded out and I can't dodge or jump. Two enemies are a death sentence in normal difficulty.

Genuinely so satisfying to play, clear the gunk off of things, it's so nice.

I cannot in good faith reccomend this yet. I was very interested in how this was similar to DREDGE, but the gameplay is kind of janky. There's like 4 distinct visual styles used. Loading screens have a painterly style, the overworld is this charming lowpoly 3D, characters are suspiciously *just* like the art style that DREDGE developed, and the videos of the teaser and the sprites of the demo show NPC sprites that are a complete different thing. Seeing that AI was used for this game, I can imagine where it was used.
I'll be following the development of this game, I love the vibe, but I'm not putting my money or stuff made with AI.

Game's gorgeous, the monsters are amazing to fight, even if the hitboxes feel unfair sometimes. Especially on this Arch Tempered Uth Duna, I play Glaive and am often way higher up than the monsters, yet blasts or tail swings hit me anyways. Not sure how the system works, but it's alright.

I haven't had major performance issues, but I did have to upgrade my rig to be able to play outright. Got a 4060 and upgraded to a SSD of 1TB.

I don't like how Capcom's handling the cosmetics. Right now, adding all of the cosmetic DLCs is 352€ total. When the base game is 70€.

Played it on the Steam Deck hooked up to the TV. I only had a couple crashes through the gameplay, not entirely sure what caused it. It's a pretty nice game, the feel of underwater is good, although there's some areas you have to be careful not to be crashing into every cave wall.
