It's so, SO relieving to see Gearbox finally hit their stride with Risk of Rain 2. The new survivors are unique and fun, the new enemies are (mostly) well balanced, the new alt path proves to be a challenge even after a loop, and the new items fill empty niches without breaking the balance.

Alloyed Collective is the #1 ROR2 DLC as of now, in my opinion. I can't believe I'm saying that after the disaster of Seekers, but here we are. This is the standard that all future content should be held to. I'm excited for the future of the game.

Early Access Review
I appreciate the effort that Andrew and the team have put into this game, but it needs a lot of work.

As it is now, the game simply isn't an MMO. It's a string of consecutive small scale single-player games with chat functions and a subscription cost. Advertising it as an MMO but launching without any grouping, trading, or PvP is a baffling choice. The Runescape DNA is pretty clearly present, but the game seemingly tries its best to hide that fact and makes some very strange design choices seemingly just to avoid being "too Runescapey".

Plenty of others have said this, but it bears repeating: resetting progress between chapters was the wrong call. This is supposed to be an MMO, these are games that encourage players to spend countless hours upgrading their character over time. Andrew created THE long-term game with Runescape, he should have known better. How did such a backwards design choice make it to the live game?
