I like the setting of the game, and the way that they tell the story, but the combat and gameplay is too janky for me to recommend it as good.

Additionally, whoever designed the quests should be reprimanded.

Quest 1 - Force you to fight an NPC that is unbeatable and scripted to force you to lose. TERRIBLE DESIGN

Quest 2 - The entire Night Raid quest was a waste of time, and does absolutely nothing outside of frustrating the player. TERRIBLE DESIGN.

Quest 3 - Capon forcing you to do some stupid quest for a necklace at the end of the game, absolute waste of time, and horribly pointless design.

There are terrible design choices overshadowing what was otherwise an amazing game.

As someone that has played Monster Hunter since the first game, I cannot recommend this game.

I went through the entire game without grinding for any armor or decorations, and I did not utilize the Artian weapon system at all. The game was boringly easy, and I understand that you want to get new players, but realistically, it's so easy that it doesn't even feel like Monster Hunter. If the game is so easy that I never have to go to the drawing board to figure out how to beat a monster, then you've seriously messed your game up somewhere.

MH: Worlds was understandable why there were so few monsters in the base game, because they were completely redesigning the game. That phase is over, and there is no excuse for the number of monsters in the base game now. Expectations should be higher, and regardless of whether shareholders are pushing them to develop faster or not, it should be inexcusable to the player. If we don't hold them to a standard, it will get worse.

Then add the fact that they charged you an even higher price for a game with less in it. I don't care if the game costs more, but don't sell me less for more.

The game is fun, although the further you get into the game you can see how often the assets are re-used. They have had some really cool Deviants that they could have capitalized on, but failed to do so and just left the Deviants feeling disappointing and underutilized.

The prices for the cosmetic things in the game are way overpriced, and the prices are set at very predatory prices so that you always have to get one bigger currency pack that has way more than what you need, or buy several of the smaller ones. But that seems to be the going trend for these types of free to play games, but it's good that it's only cosmetic.

The conclusion of the story in the DLC is atrocious and rushed, and to me is one of the worst story conclusions that FromSoftware has made in the Dark Souls / Elden Ring series to date. There is no way to make any of it make sense. That's all I can say, because I don't want to give spoilers.

If you remember the lore and story from the main game, then you would think that the people who wrote the lore and joke of a story ending in the DLC were two completely different companies that did not have any of the same values.

The rest of the DLC is fun.
