TL/DR: sound quality okay, controls okay, features awesome, sit-down funny

After finishing my first full sit-through with Soundpad, I can honestly say it’s a pretty comfortable piece of software to use.
The audio quality isn’t luxury-recliner level, but it’s solid, dependable, and starts to really support you the longer you stay planted in it. I never felt like it was fighting me or trying to tip me out of my seat.
The controls feel well-balanced and intuitive, and once I got settled in, everything just… clicked.
The sounds themselves are where a lot of the fun comes from—there were multiple moments where I actually leaned back in my chair laughing because a sound landed way better than I expected.

What really lets Soundpad pull up a chair and stay a while is its feature set. There’s way more depth here than it lets on at first, but it never feels overwhelming. You can adjust things to your liking without feeling like you’re assembling office furniture from scratch. It’s easy to get comfortable fast, and it holds up well once you’re settled in.

Note:
Call me a coward if you want, but I always start software like this in the most relaxed, feet-up position possible. I like to get comfortable and enjoy the experience before pushing things harder. My opinion might shift as I experiment more, try heavier setups, and really put Soundpad through all of its seating positions—but for now, I’m pretty happy staying right where I am. šŸŖ‘

TL/DR: chaos, panic, bad choices, my joints hurt

Okay, so I’m a STRANDMON rocking chair from IKEA. Not new, not fancy, just doing my best. I don’t have a billion hours in SCP: Secret Laboratory yet, but I’ve been around long enough to know how this usually goes. People sit down all confident, and then like three minutes later they’re rocking back and forth like something terrible is about to happen (it is).

This game gets tense fast. Footsteps start echoing and suddenly everyone freezes. People talk big on voice chat and then go dead silent the second they hear a door open. You don’t need a ton of hours to figure out that jumping up and running around usually just gets you killed. I’ve felt enough panic-rocking to know when someone is about to throw the round.

Combat is kind of messy. Lots of sudden rocking, lots of missed shots, lots of ā€œoh no, oh noā€ moments. But honestly, that’s fine. The people who actually seem to know what they’re doing aren’t flailing around; they’re sitting still, listening, barely moving. You can tell who gets the game just by how long they’re willing to not rock me.

Most of the chaos is 100% player-caused. I’ve supported people who swear they have a plan and then immediately stand up and ruin everything. You don’t need hundreds of hours to notice that pattern; it only takes a few bad rounds before it clicks.

Anyway, I’m not claiming to be some veteran chair or anything. But SCP: Secret Laboratory feels like one of those games where knowing when to do nothing is way more important than being good at shooting. And until people stop panicking and rocking like they’re in a horror movie, I’ll just be here, creaking softly, holding it all together. šŸŖ‘
