A brilliant little puzzle game. Starts simple, ramps up to absurdity, but you rarely ever feel overwhelmed by the multiple infinities it's throwing at you. Superb.

Impressive, very well done. Time and time again, I'm humbled by what modders... no... developers are able accomplish using Source Engine. They should be proud of what they've created. If Valve at some point wanted to canonize this, I'd be in support of that.

(May 05 2024) High Command says the current Major Order is to express dissent against the enemies of Super Earth.

I'm doing my part.

It's a great puzzle game with a lot of charm and a decent amount of puzzles.

A profound little game that muses the nature of life, death, and mental transcendence.

I'm struggling to put into words how razor-sharp this game is in its intent. From its gameplay, to its presentation, its message. Everything has an acute sense of what's trying to convey. Even the gameplay, which feels tacked on, has a very specific goal that goes along with the overall theme. It is excellent in this regard.

The unfortunate truth, however, is that due to its presentation and gameplay, the vast majority of people will never purchase, play, or truly appreciate its message.

If I had to leverage a complaint, it's that the game requires two playthroughs to get what's going on. Taking the default path with no exploration leads you to a game that feels like it lacks any depth, and therefore you are very tempted to just uninstall the game after getting the religious ending.

I would argue the philosophical and religious endings should have been a bit more intertwined, at least on a surface level, and the philosophical component be less verbose text dumps and more low level explanations of the concepts (with the text dumps being a bonus, rather than a requirement). Though it probably mirrors real life, the philosophical component is somewhat invisible, unless you know to look for it.

Perhaps that was intended, and me complaining actually detracts from the organic nature of discovering what this game is really about. I'm not sure, maybe I'm doing people a disservice by harping on it.

I'm glad this game has achievements, otherwise I probably would have bailed after the first ending. It's kind of ironic that a pointless virtual trophy lead me to a story route that, in some ways, lampoons the idea of a meaningless reward for finishing. I'm not sure if that was intended, but I do find the very thought mildly entertaining.

If you've got it, you should play it. It's not super long, and it might lead you to a different way of thinking.

A clever little game. Unique. Interesting. It makes you feel smart from time to time.

Sadly, it's a tad bit short. It probably could use an extra case or two to call it worth the price.

That said, I look forward to any sequels or continuations of this series.

An incredibly clever little game that ends up being a deconstruction of game development, game design, player choice, and meta narratives. There might be some commentary of death of the author and parasocial gaming in there, but I'm not confident enough to state that with certainty. It also manages to do all of that without feeling cringey or forced.

..and, If that description was too artsy for you, it's a genuinely fun, accessible, and well-made game.

A dull open world game with atrociously bad writing. It's like a greatest hits playlist of bad narrative tropes.

Hilariously inept villains, murky motivations, ridiculous inconsistencies and plot holes, lots of locked-in monologues full of pointless babble, obvious player-agency-annihilating cutscene doors, getting knocked out and captured eight times, friends who are clearly at death's door somehow magically surviving, forced torture scenes, baffling mysticism, superpowered boss fights, lots of would-be setups that go no where, villains win in cutscenes because you are unconscious, and a "good" ending that is hysterical to the point I was laughing out loud.

You got me Far Cry 5, very funny. So funny it'll be the last Far Cry game I'll ever play.
