It's like okay I guess

I bought this game in a bundle with a far superior FMV (Late Shift) and let me tell you the difference between the quality of these games is tremendous, in Late Shift I was completely engaged the entire time and was never left wondering why in god's name am I wasting my time with this. Alternatively this game had me wondering that the entire time, for 3 main reasons, the story and worldbuilding, the gameplay, and the protagonist. The story and worldbuilding have alot of the same reasons so I'll put them together. The story was lackluster and prodictable for the most part, while the idea of it is interesting, it completely fails to deliver. I was always wondering, why is the child version of the protaganist just allowed wherever he wants? Why are people having these important questions in a hallway where apparently anyone can wander in? Are there no restricted areas? Why does this bunker have zero security? There are 2 bedrooms in the entire game, where does everyone sleep? Overall fails to deliver an immursive and realistic story and world. Would be a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ movie and as a game it fairs no better. The gameplay was outright boring, FMV's aren't supposed to be focused on gameplay but instead on the story, but the story was so lame that it made the gameplay feel nothing but tedious. You walk around clicking on stuff, half the time it does nothing or the protagonist will just not wanna do it because it doesnt fit the narrative yet. There are collectables that do nothing to reward the player besides giving you an achievement, since the gameplay is so limited there is no reason to look deeper into the environment so most of the time when I found collectibles it was early on before I realized that there is no point in looking around for a couple minutes before you complete the task at hand; therefore, the collectibles were nothing but achievement fodder. There are a few Quick Time Events in this game and they are completely unecessary, the only purpose they serve is to add more "gameplay" but they just end up feel annoying and if you somehow fail them(I was on my phone) you reset back and HAVE TO WATCH THIS UNINTERESTING ♥♥♥♥ AGAIN. The protagonist is by far the worst part of the game, not only is he a bumbling moron, which adds nothing to his character but instead is used to add tension to the story, but he is also just boring: There is nothing interesting about him at all, he has no personality other than "I love my mommy" and "I'm scared". The entire time I was playing this game I was just wishing he would shut up, because I literally nothing he says all game is important and I was tired of hearing his useless imput for ♥♥♥♥ I already know to do. Overally this game is a solid 2/10 and definitely not worth TWENTY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DOLLARS, idk what drunk ass in the development team thought it should be twenty bucks but for less than 2 hours of non-replayable garbage it should be free or 99 cents. Don't waste your money or time, if you are really that interested go watch a youtube playthrough, you'll get the same experience and save the money. Now I'm gunna go see if I can refund this trash.
