This game is marvellous. Even if you are not old enough to remember all the Sci-Fi over the last 40 years or more which have influenced the games art, design and sounds, you will still enjoy the unique 'feel' of this game.
If you are old enough .. You will on occasion have a pleasant smile fixed upon your face, so beware the family considering having you taken away to a psychiatrist, while you are blissfully unaware entranced in a universe of your own.

Its easy to get into, you dont have to micro-manage the building of an empire like the X series. It can be a quick blast versus space pirates or a wonderful adventure which will keep you enthralled for hours. Its the update to Elite I wished would happen many years ago. Little did I know that Sean Murray was delivering the real single player game I wanted instead of David Braben, and with such style.

Puzzles, missions, just working out how to sustain yourself in this sometimes harsh universe will pull you in to a very immersive experience.
It can be quite a beautiful site seeing tour too. This game can be relaxing.

It has many creatures to discover ( and be rewarded for ), but you will learn to regard cute sounds as being akin to the sound a Hyena makes as it studies how best to take you down before ripping your flesh off the bone in its vice like jaws. They can be pleasant, but dont go hugging them just in case of hidden spikes.

Any fans of Piers Anthony stories ?, you might see the odd hopping mushroom ;)

There were a few bugs at launch, which Sean Murray and his team have quickly set upon rectifying, they listen and make good their oversights. Bravo Hello Games, for an Indie with such a mountainous task, you are already leading where other long established games companies can only aspire to follow.
