I've played through the first half of the game and I thoroughly enjoy it. There are great homages to other retro classics, and it's a great tie in to the Power Rangers universe.

I do agree that if you are looking for combat to be as smooth as Shredder's Revenge, it is not quite there yet. There are plenty of moves though, and if you actually learn to use them it's not that difficult. Hopefully some combat issues will be smoothed out but if you play the game with multiple people (I played with 3 players) the game is lots of fun and you barely notice the clunkiness.

NOTE: There are unlockable arcade mini games that you can get by finding items in the stages. So be sure to explore.

The Mega Zord and vehicle stages are hilarious and enjoyable. Definitely remind me of GI Joe by Konami. Nice callback.

If you have friends to play with, I definitely recommend. If you want to play solo, I would wait for a patch OR play on easy. After all, you unlock the green ranger after beating the game on any difficulty.
