I'm finishing my 5th play-through of Dying Light 1 now and my 3rd time 100%ing the game and after loading into Dying Light 2 and resuming my game save, I can confidently say this game is not fun in comparison to the first.

Almost everything feels worse about the direction of DL2. The writing is weird and the narrative choices feel amateur. The overall movement is significantly worse and less than entertaining. Compared to the first, it's floaty, uncomfortable, and full of awkward timing. There is a delay after pressing M1 to swing your weapon and there is a delay after pressing space to jump. The realism is a nice touch, but this is a zombie parkour video game, not a hyper-realistic documentarian simulator. The movement should feel better over the first game, not worse. The graphics are better than DL1 in some respects, and worse in others. There have been some interesting new additions to the game and post-game, which are notable. However, the general flow of the game is mediocre compared to the first and the experience is marred by this. The sum of DL2's parts is good enough, but not great.

Dying Light 1 is still better, more cohesive overall, and infinitely more fun to play.

P.S. The voice acting is laughable
