The games really good though at the time of writing this I've got like 40 hours logged and haven't explored nearly everything. Keep in mind the following is personal opinion, take it as you will.


Theres not many games out there like this. It does the space exploration bit amazingly well, requiring a constant management of both Fuel and Ammunition in the event of pirates, raids, etc.

The base building is amazing and time consuming, but it makes it feel worth it. Snag a model off the workshop or build from scratch, either way you feel like you've accompished something when that timer reaches zro or you've tossed down that final block.

Dont know if its just personal feeling but the game is just satisfying. I started off struggling but as soon as I hit space there was just something amazing feeling. Haven't tried space engineers (Computer is a 300$ laptop bought off a friend, and I'm no tech expert) but from what I've seen the only thing its got on Empyrion is the time its been up.

Empyrion offers experience progression, Hostile AI, various planets, resource management, base building, exploration, resource gathering, and this is just an early Alpha build. I have everything turned to low graphics and the game is still breathtaking.

Of course it's got its cons, but that's for someones who's opinion is more professional to list.

All in All, it was a personally decent investment. From fighting aliens for their meat to going on strafe runs in my new fighter, everything about this game is just fun. Just a little time consuming is all

Love the game, communities great and it's got a lot of updates...

Granted there's a lot of DLC but it's exactly as DLC should be. The base game is huge and has a lot of content, the DLC is just added content that, without, you can still have fun.

There's plenty of bugs, but there's not much truly gamebreaking... Much...
