I am cautiously optimistic about the future of the game. It has done a lot to turn things around and while it still has its problems, I would now recommend it. We will see if it can keep its momentum.

This game is dumb and I love it.

One of the better H-games out there that gets you invested into the character and watch them develop.
The gameplay is very unique on balancing the needs of Xao, meeting a deadline, and interactive elements.
It is one of the more solid and well-developed interactive h-scenes that really takes your time and commitment to pleasure both the MC and Xao. It is a bit repetitive later on when you are nearing the end-game and the work you need to put into it gets a sense of diminishing returns.
Anyways- I wholeheartedly recommend this and hope my friends and family can forgive me for this review.

The devs fixed the issue fairly quickly and the game has been very fun since.

I will need to explain a game mechanic real quick. Essentially you need to keep up your faith to keep your cult happy. This can be done in many ways but one of the biggest effects are Follower Quests. They can either add or lose you a TON of faith. My issue is that every new follower quest I am getting right now is getting assigned to one of my DEAD followers, which instantly fails the quest and loses me half of my total faith. I have not been able to find a way around this.

Oh and the in-game bug report function isn't working for me. It gives me an error after 3 different attempts and restarts. Idk if this is a one-off thing but I have now effectively lost 5 hours of progress.

I sometimes get NSFW games when I am bored but this is something that I felt the need to refund and leave a review.

Not very well put together. Has what seems to be unfinished content? The lewd animated scenes are lackluster and has some more extreme fetishes. The English translation isn't very well implemented. All in all, I would say pass on this game.

I will say, that while it doesn't have the same production value or focus on the cinematic experience that L4D had, a lot of the things pointed out by people hating on this online are things that I either didn't notice or care about when playing B4B. I didn't care about the objects having physics, the characters facial mocap, the way zombies fall when they are shot. When you are in the heat of combat, you aren't focused on those things. Both in L4D and B4B. I was skeptical about getting it myself, but I am glad I did because I have put 50 hours in it now with friends as we are slowly working our way up the difficulty and unlocking better cards for the run decks. And I have been having a blast while doing it.
There were a few things here and there I was disappointed at like how the pipebombs don't make this giant fantastical explosion like L4D but it still functions the same and typically there is too much going on in the higher difficulties to focus on it anyways. IMO, if you have a group of friends to play with, then I think it is worth getting it. I would not do it solo or with randoms, and tbh I also wouldn't play L4D solo or with randoms either.

A very charming game that gets you to love all the characters involved and really get to feel for their tragedies. It is only about a 2 hour play but well worth the experience for these lovely and tragic stories
