Early Access Review
Nevergrind Online is a throwback to the early days of dungeon crawler PC RPGs. If you grew up enjoying games like EverQuest, Wizardry, muds and the like, then this game is for you! It is Nostalgic gold. It is simple, yet the multiplayer mechanic makes it entirely different at the same time. I bought this game for a quick night of nostalgic gaming, and now I'm hooked.

Xenoverse 1 but balanced. Large energy attacks have dead zones or cool down increases, afterimage and phantom were nerfed a bit it seems, and skills were tweaked along with many new additions. It plays like the first title with a much larger city filled with sidequests and repeatables. I think of it as "DBZ Monster Hunter".

The story is heavily influenced by the first game, and your character, if you have it installed still, will port over as a plot npc in the second title. Your equipped clothing and skills (not transformations) will transfer too. I loved this little addition, a head start for us old players and it's very entertaining to see my old toon in the new game.

Pros:

* Combat seems more balanced.

*A beautiful game graphically (with the exception of the Academy and a few other small indoor locations that appear unfinished) that does not require a monster PC.

* Many new skills and a change to melee combos for the better.

* QQ bang item, use for stats instead of clothing, allowing you to customize your clothing style and still receive the stats you need.

* Multiplayer still runs smooth, no lag issues so far

*Expansive in terms of quests and sidequests. This game has content. The city is much larger than the first title with way more to offer. Examples: Guru repeatable quests, grow a Majin family that farms items, do missions for Hercule and the Great Saiyaman, join the Frieza Force and wreak havoc for fun, the list goes on. Content is NOT lacking.

* Implementation of a multiplayer team lobby (Kame House) that makes team quest farming much easier.

Cons:

*AI intelligence. It's either handicapped or impossible, no middle ground. Your AI allies never seem to do too well on their own.

* A few unpolished areas graphically, primarily inside several buildings in town.

Conclusion: Xenoverse 2 is a huge improvement over its predecessor, with a large amount of quests and skills to keep any dbz or fighter fan entertained.

9/10

Where do I begin...

Being a fan of the Baldurs Gate and Neverwinter titles, I was very excited about this game! Unfortunately, this one does not live up to its name. The game itself isn't horrible and offers some entertainment value, however the story is bland and the game itself is grind-heavy. Although SCL does remind me of the older titles, there are a few major flaws and differences.

1. Bugs. Everywhere. Seriously. Disappearing mouse, 100% GPU usage on a high end system, lack of optimization, choppy gameplay, clunky pathing, disappearing NPC's, etc...

2. Odd hybrid 5th edition rules with cooldowns? The system does not appear to be true full-fledged 5th edition, and several of the dice rolls & mechanics behind your actions are hidden.

3. Graphics. The game is not ugly, but it is also not beautiful. My concern with this game is that other, graphically similar games run smoothly with low hardware requirements, however this game runs pretty bad even on high end rigs. Also, something seems off with how it handles both AF and Shadows when it comes to GPU usage % and video memory. I have seen plenty talk on the forums about people getting massive framerate hits for no apparent reason, which I have experienced personally.

4. Price. In it's current form, I would be more forgiving were it in beta. SCL does not feel complete. $39.99 USD for a buggy, incomplete game is no good.

I would describe Sword Coast Legends to be more of a clunky cooldown-based Diablo clone. It is not well polished both graphically and in gameplay, thus I cannot give it a positive recommendation at this time. I would avoid this title until the above issues are fixed, or the price drops significantly. If you are looking for games similar to Baldurs Gate with modern gameplay mechanics, check out Pillars of Eternity or Divinity: Original Sin.

So, if you like board games & tabletop, grid based tactics or card games, check out Card Hunter (now on Steam).

So far I have put a good chunk of time into it, and this game is a blast.

Why?

Pros:
------

1. Free to play.

2. Not true pay to win. You can unlock extra missions and treasure hunts with pizza, which is purchased with real cash. There is also gold used for items and chests (which can drop random gear, including the best). They give you enough pizza to unlock quite a bit of the end-game treasure hunts just by playing through the campaign, if you hold onto it. Gear drops from chests at the end of matches, and it's quite random with the loot drops (RNG). Everything can be obtained without a single spent penny.

3. Gameplay. Think your traditional grid-based tactics game... with cards. Instead of having set attacks, you draw cards each turn and that is what you have for that round. The cool part is that each character draws cards, and the cards in each characters deck are dependent on what gear you have equipped. Equipment in this game gives you various cards (which are your attacks and skills) instead of traditional stats

4. Campaign is a bit entertaining, sometimes repetitive, but good. Once you finish the game, you can redo any mission with special challenges that must be dealt with. These missions give you good loot drops.

5. Multiplayer: This game has 2 and 3 player co-op, as well as true 1v1 pvp. 2 player allows for an additional card draw per character to make up for the lack of numbers. It's an absolute blast. There is also true pvp multiplayer, which is ladder/elo based. In this mode, everyone is given 3 characters to use that are higher level (once you unlock them in the campaign), or your own characters once you finish leveling them. You get to use whatever equipment you have found as well. In my opinion, this is the true game. There are so many combinations between all of the gear, character race and class options that you rarely see 2 people of the exact same build.

Cons:
------

RNG. On occasion, it hits you with a left on card draws & defense rolls, and finishes with a big right to the jaw on loot drops.

The game is alright, I'm only a few hours into it but it already seems to be a bit linear. This game would have been great... 5 years ago... but with so many other zombie titles out there, half of which are sandbox or open world, this title seems a bit dated. I would recommend buying it while it's on sale, but at normal price it's a touch expensive for what you get.

6/10

I'd say if you like zombie games or zombies in general, go for it... but not at full price

It's Age of Empires 2, this game was always good... Still better than most current RTS.

Don't expect great visuals or majestic cutscenes, but the game has some of the most solid mechanics of it's genre. Even the HD version looks dated, but at least it fits my widescreen monitor a bit better.

If I had posted this a couple months back, it would have been a positive review. The game is hilarious, the gameplay is quick and action packed, and holy crap the skins and taunts make me rofl every time. The issue these days are as follows...

Matchmaking balance issues. Teams ALWAYS seem uneven

Hackers. Over the past month or so, I have had someone OBVIOUSLY hacking in about 1 in every 3 or 4 games. I'm talking aerial double headshot snipers while twisting, walking on the sky, and getting to normally un-accessable areas.

Weapons. There has been little to no additional content for weapons or skills since it came live on Steam.

This has ruined this game for me, and that is unfortunate. I am over 20$ in the hole as it is with skins and taunts.

Please fix your game and add more weapons and content.

A nice little moba/arena team deathmatch gem. More fun that it should be, nice visuals, and The Legacy of Kain world... quick matches, awesome skills, and it's not very "pay to win". I can't wait to see what else they bring to the table as the game progresses.

I am not sure how a game that looks like Roblox made by the worlds smallest dev team seems more complete than DayZ, but it does. This game is deceptively addictive, has very few bugs and glitches, and is extremely fun to play with a group of friends. The gold membership is a PERMANANT one time purchase, and worth it as well. I can't even find a negative thing about this game... other than the fact that the zombies are a little easy to kill... but then there is always the pvp element.

Whatever you guys do, PLEASE MAKE MORE GAMES!

Fun game, Voxel style vehicle builder/fighter. Build your vehicle, fight, gain money and experience. Level up for better parts etc... Needs a bit more content, and I would love to see more weapons to choose from (or mixing weapon types), but in all it's fun and quite playable without paying any real cash. P2W can help, but you can earn just about anything on your own.

7/10 (fun, addictive, but lacking overall in content)
