Install the free demo. If you like the main gameplay loop there, you'll be delighted at the variety and replayablity of the full version.

2025-11-18: I've got all achievements. Will I come back? Probably. Thinks are getting a little repetitive, but it's still fun to do a couple of runs. I know there's at least one double-evolution ball I haven't made quite yet.

2026-02-27: Had 100%, came back for the free DLC / update. Back to 100% again. Still a fun game to me.

I find it really hard, but also a way to try to practice calm and perseverance. It may not be a game for everyone, but it's solid and engaging.

Best JRPG in several years. If you find the dodge/parry system frustrating, remember that in a game without it, the characters would just have to face-tank everything.

Clicker that you can finish in a day, that's not overly simple. Let me know if you find the secret ending.

Controls are really awkward and the music gets repetitive quickly. The game doesn't give enough predictive feedback / throughput maximums, so it's hard to guess whether a design might meet to quotas established. Too many things are buried in menus / windows and the menus are not obvious to navigate.

I was expecting more at this price point. I might try again, but I've tried getting through the first scenario 3 times, and I get bored and frustrated before completing it each time.

Simple progressive with optional continuous interaction. Also, sometimes it just feels good to smash stuff.

I didn't spend as much time as I intended to with Iron Village, and I want to spend more with it. Overall a fairly chill city-builder, with cute art, and a smooth learning curve. You can get started quickly, and it's difficult to get truly lost, with very joy-positive refunds for when you want to change things up. If the menus get too complex, you can easily slow down and go at your own pace. There are timers, but trades will come back around soon enough -- there's always at least one train planning to arrive.

I did have one villager that got "stuck" in between two buildings and then ALSO got chosen as the worker to demolish the building that was "in the way" and I never satisfactorily resolved that. So, there might be some minor bugs.

I didn't finish the primary quest line, yet but I hope to visit Iron Village more.

Claming. Pretty. No tutorializing, but all the controls "just work" for me.

Early Access Review
If you like shapes, this is more of the same, but better, even in early access.
