I was a big fan of SMITE 1 back in the day, although I haven't played in years. I'm not much of a competitive gamer now, but decided to try this out just to see, and I am definitely hooked. Gameplay is smooth, team fights are action packed, with lots of different play styles available. The best improvement is that there is pretty decent flexibility on what gods you can pick for a role, especially with the god aspects that can be turned on to allow for multiple roles.

You get an unlock token every time your account levels up, so its easy enough to get a small roster going of the ones that interest you. Lets you get some play time in before deciding if you want to spend money to unlock everything.

By far the best combat in any survival crafting game. No jank and actually has real depth to it.

Really fun game, wide variety of heroes that range from simple to difficult to play, fantastic combat, fast paced with 10-15 games that are always intense. You start with a decent amount of heroes and earning gold is not too difficult so you can get a decent roster of heroes you like pretty quick.

Ridiculously fun coop game. If you liked Castle Crashers, you'll this as it has a more in-depth RPG leveling system and better combat with more varied abilties. Most recent update added game lobbies, so its easy to find games even without friends playing.

Amazing coop roguelike. As a big fan of games like ToME and Dungeonsman, having a similar experience but coop and with JRPG style combat makes it really unique and addicting.

I didn't really think much of this game when I first saw it pop-up on Steam. I've got hundreds of hours in Overwatch, thousands in Dota 2, and hundreds in SMITE. This looked like some kind of mash-up and it didn't really make sense to me what it was trying to do. That was my own fault. It definitely can be argued that it draws from all three of those games but it really is its own beast.

It's fast-paced, strategic, and filled with unique heroes. The fight for control of capture points by summoning different creatues that provide buffs, defense, and healing gives the game this constant back and forth tug-of-war that means you are constantly making decisions and fighting for the upper-hand.

Lots of fighting wouldn't be fun without great hero kits. You see some of the familiar names; Bruiser, Tank, Support, Assassin, but the more open, 3rd-person movement of the game means these are similar names with brand new ways of playing. You'll launch yourself across the map to slam down on opponents or vault over walls to escape, you'll hover in the air to blast opponents from above. The freedom of movement and all skill shot abilties is a very welcome addition. You level up as you play allowing you to unlock different augments to your four abilties and ultimate. This provides new combos that are exciting to pull off instead of just spamming abilities. Also all the animations are incredibly slick. Movement looks great, attacks are distinct, and killing off an enemy has a satisfying punch to it.

As far as I can see the developers have a real passion for this game and intend to regularly add new heroes to add to the diversity, so it doesnt matter if you like or dont like shooters and MOBAs, this game is unique to itself and if you enjoy fast paced competitive games then you should at the very least give it a go. It may surprise you like it did me.

One of the best stealth games of all time. Slow and calculating. Lots of replayability as you learn the game and move up through the difficulties.

One of the best modern JRPG's I've played recently. It instantly brings out the same feelings I get when going back to play the old classics from SNES and PSX. You really feel like you are playing an anime about an epic adventure. The story line is great, with a beautiful ending that makes you realize this epic adventure is only a small part of the big picture. The characters are what really bring it together though, with lots of funny and sometimes corny (this IS a JRPG) dialogue that makes you not just like the characters but also care about them. The anime art also looks sharp, which lends even more personality and uniquenes to each person you meet.

The combat is very well done. The game actually starts out fairly difficult but eases up when you get to the later part of the game. Too much combat can get repetitive, but since there are no random encounters you only have to grind when you want to. The orbment system gives you some customization of your party members and all the combat animations look solid. The grid based battlefield makes the game look like something similar to Final Fantasy Tactics, but with the way character customization and combat mechanics work, the combat still feels more similar to your standard Final Fantasy fighting.

If you are a JRPG fan, you are going to be hard pressed to find something this good without going back to the 90's (with some exceptions on console and handheld). I highly suggest picking this up to provide support to the JRPG scene on Steam, while also getting a real gem that you can easily sink 50+ hours into with a good chance of more chapters to come. I finished the game about 30 minutes before writing this and instead of feeling RPG burnout, I'm just impatiently waiting for Chapter Two to come out so I can throw some more money at the developers.

Amazing Game. Deep character customization, solid turn based RPG combat, great writing and story. This is a classic cRPG experience in a modern package, with plenty to make it stand on its own. Being built to played co-op makes it that much sweeter. Nothing out there can satisfy the itch that this game does.
