I thought this would be an apocalyptically bad game.

Turns out it has better writing than 90% of the games in the platform.

It IS also porn, just so you know.

Legit this had me laughing at how BOLD it can be with the sex stuff.

Overall, having played quite a good amount of MMO expansions, pretty good.

But for the bar this game had set for itself it is a bit miserable, story, setting, and character wise.

No chance the director talking about giving the game a "second rebirth" a month ago is some coincidence, population is going down as well. I still think the game is peak until Endwalker and fully recommend it, but Dawntrail is eh at best. Even if it is about Perú lol.

Chrono Trigger is like Vivaldi or Chopin.

Chances are that, if you are the type that would be interested in playing it, you already have, and you probably know you love it.

Beautiful story, great combat. Surprisingly fun mechanics and party members.

The structure absolutely blew my mind as I went in blind. What I expected would be a typical parody JRPG story was twisted into an extremely fresh take on a setting that played along with the contrast in tone presented by it´s ideas, with great pacing and setup, I think every single plot thread they hinted at was fully resolved which I consider absolutely impressing for a first time JRPG dev, they show insane amounts of talent and creativity yet masterful restraint.

I am completely TERRIFIED of whatever these people will make next.

One of the best games ever made.

Charisma is insanely good in this game, to the point where you can even skip the final boss fight. If you like CRPGs, that sentence likely enticed you already. This also (physically) featured one of the best manuals/lorebooks I have ever seen, that also includes a recipe for banana bread (pretty good ngl).

Just know that getting it to work nicely in a modern system is a bit weird.

Troika Games was truly ahead of their time by two decades, their closure was a loss for everyone.

More of the same, with a couple of interesting and well done weapon archetypes, enemies, and whatnot.
No raid, just a dungeon. I expected the story to be meh but I still felt dissapointed, not sure why I still bother.
Music is still peak.

Everybody has that one favorite thing, be it a book, tv series, movie, comic book or whatever that is so close to them, so rich and interesting in their head, that they at some point wished it had a game where you could do everything in it, with a dream story that covered it´s entire cast of characters, and finally answered a lot of the heavy hitting questions in that world. A game that was rich with choices, different activities, quests, enemies, secrets, details, that it felt like a miracle. This is exactly that game for fans of the books.

Ideally, you should never play gachas. But if you will, then it should probably be this one or something like Reverse 1999. When the faucet runs dry you will most likely leave for a while. Oh, and if you are a Genshin whale, then this will likely replace your addiction.
