Unfortunately, after more than 200 hours played, I cannot recommend this game.

My biggest issue is the lack of meaningful, regularly added content. Since launch, we have received only two new maps, one of which (Blackwell Fields) is practically unplayable. After a few dozen hours, boredom inevitably sets in — you’ve already seen everything the game has to offer.

The Battle Pass rewards are bland and uninspiring, offering no real incentive to complete it. The same goes for the in-game store: cosmetic items are weak, repetitive, and visually very similar to one another. Even if I wanted to spend money, there’s simply nothing worth buying. Because of this, the game quickly loses its ability to motivate players to log in daily or complete daily and weekly challenges.

Weapon balance is another major problem — it is completely broken. How is it possible that a submachine gun consistently outperforms an assault rifle at long range? How can a sniper, while taking damage, still land a perfectly accurate headshot without flinching? Since when is it acceptable to get one-shot headshotted by a shotgun from 100 meters away? On top of that, anti-vehicle weapons (with the exception of one type of mine and the RPG) feel weak, ineffective, and largely pointless to use.

Progression is painfully slow. With over 200 hours played, I still haven’t unlocked all attachments for all weapons. This forces players into mindless grinding instead of allowing them to play the way they want — and that grind offers no sense of satisfaction or reward.

Map design is also disappointing. By Battlefield standards, the maps are far too small. Control points are often placed in strange ways, sometimes clearly favoring one team from the start. Almost every match turns into a chaotic meat grinder, similar to Metro in BF3. This is Battlefield, not Call of Duty — most maps should be large and open, with only a few smaller ones for players who enjoy constant chaos.

The lack of a server browser is completely unjustifiable. Since when did core features become “outdated”?

The user interface is another weak point. It’s chaotic and unintuitive, with important options buried under multiple layers of menus. For example, the recently added option to change reticle color is not located in the loadout customization menu (where everyone would logically expect it), but instead hidden in the HUD settings. That makes little sense.

Server synchronization and hit registration are also major issues. I’ve lost count of how many times I died while clearly being behind cover — even my character’s body was already behind a wall or obstacle. Likewise, I’ve lost count of how many times I emptied half a magazine into an enemy, only for the game to register barely half of the hits, resulting in my death instead.

There are also smaller but noticeable problems, such as the lack of enter and exit animations for vehicles. Seriously? Battlefield 1 handled this perfectly — it looked great, added immersion, and forced players to act more carefully. Here, it feels instant and arcade-like: you’re in, you’re out, no consequence. Again, very Call of Duty–like.

Overall, Battlefield 6 feels far too similar to Call of Duty. Sliding everywhere, constant jumping like circus acrobats — it’s very clear who this game was designed for. Not longtime Battlefield fans, but players coming from Activision’s franchise.

Social features are also poorly implemented. In a game released in 2025/2026, why does leaving a match not pull your entire party with you? Why does every player have to leave individually? It’s inconvenient and makes no sense.

And finally, the icing on the cake: the username ban system. I received a one-week ban for my nickname “Bundy PL”, supposedly due to references to violence against children. Appeals and explanations did nothing — despite clarifying that the name refers to Al Bundy from Married with Children, that I’ve used this nickname in EA services since 2008, and that it has nothing to do with violence. Ironically, even the ban notification email started with “Hey, bundy pl”. I could understand a warning and a request to change my name, but instead I was immediately banned — apparently because the word “Bundy” is flagged somewhere in an automated system. Meanwhile, servers are full of players with names openly referencing rape, murder, and insults toward family members, and that seems to be completely ignored. And what if my real surname was Bundy? What would happen then? I would get banned for my family name? Absurd and frustrating.

To be fair, the game does have some positives. Gunplay feels solid — weapons have good feedback and shooting feels satisfying. Environmental destruction is also excellent: buildings crumble, walls collapse, debris flies everywhere, and the battlefield is constantly filled with dust and chaos. This level of destruction looks impressive, feels dynamic, and finally brings back some of that classic Battlefield atmosphere.

The campaign is surprisingly decent, certainly better than what we got in Black Ops 7. The game looks good overall, is well optimized, loads quickly, and matchmaking takes only seconds.

Unfortunately, none of this is enough to make Battlefield 6 feel like a true Battlefield experience.
