✅ Addicting turn-based strategy rouge-like gameplay
✅ You need big brain power for every move you make
✅ Drop in and drop out anytime, game saves progress every turn
✅ Highly repayable
✅ Tons of unlockables

❌ Undo turn was much more needed than undo move
❌ Placing units at start of battle felt pointless because enemy units always get the first turn
❌ Reputation points should've carried over island to island

Beautiful Tales game, it's now one of my favorites especially after finishing the after‑story arc. The quest tracker was really a godsend addition for an old game like this. I loved the characters; they were consistently charming and grew on me more than I expected. Their chemistry carried both the lighthearted moments and the emotional ones, and by the end I genuinely felt attached to the whole cast.

The combat system as always for a tales game, was really good, and unlocking titles felt satisfying. There's a strange addiction to combat that makes you not skip any encounters. Overall, a must play recommendation for any tales/JRPG fan.

✅ Cute and amazing character design (there's 3 girls with 3 routes)
✅ CGs are really good
✅ Decent OST
✅ Good voiceovers with motion animations
✅ Game resumes immediately from last save when booting (this godsend feature really surprised me because hardly any game uses it. Trails series is the only one that I know so far)

❌ Bland basic story
❌ Very short for a VN
❌ No adult scenes
❌ No cloud save

✅ Unique souls-like game where you can change class system seamlessly on the fly. Quite underrated game
✅ Decent story
✅ Different synergies gives you different buffs
✅ Sprinting does not consume stamina
✅ Morph strikes and lifesteal gameplay was pretty cool

❌ The gameplay does feel clunky
❌ Controls feels unresponsive sometimes
❌ Game has stability issues (crashed twice for me, the game saves immediately when closing so it wasn't a big deal)
❌ Ugly character design
❌ You can't upgrade/increase the healing kit you're given at start of game making it useless later on
❌ Cutscenes looks rough
❌ Not very long for a souls-like
❌ DLSS turns off on game restart (it will show 'ON' in menu but you've to retoggle it to actually turn it on again)

✅ Roguelike card game (similar to Slay the Spire/Monster Train) but with a grid-based turn-based battle system
✅ Game has 3 main archetypes (melee, weapon & spell) that provides different playstyles
✅ Drop in and drop out anytime. Progress is saved after every move, so you can quit the game anytime and continue back at the same place
✅ Game has several difficulty options to choose from that is very useful which can allow rollovers/restarts
✅ You can recruit and use 3 characters at the same time, and the support attack from team members feels satisfying
✅ One of the battle soundtrack is just so good

❌ As with their first game, this game suffers the same problem. There's just too much enemy types in late game. Usually this is nothing I want to complain about, but in this game different enemy has very different significant buffs. The buff ranges from enemies moving as you move, enemies facing you automatically, auto-attacking, auto-counter-attacking, auto-dodging, gaining auto-block, can't be damaged in front, can't be downed, debuffing you from anywhere and a lot more which becomes extremely annoying and very unfair. This kind of buffs even makes some cards useless which is a terrible game design
❌ Some attack animations are terrible (looking at you Ice-Blast)
❌ Replayability in this game is just horrible. Each run can take several hours (6+) and being a roguelike doesn't help at all with this game. Once you lose you've to do all over again
❌ While you can technically skip stages once you beat them, game seriously handicaps you as it doesn't provide any sort of compensation for skipping so it makes that feature entirely useless

✅ Great roguelike deckbuilder (similar to Slay the Spire)
✅ 4 playable heroes with different playstyle
✅ Artsyle looks pretty good
✅ Highly replayable

❌ Constant cards were kinda boring as you couldn't take advantage of the buffs
❌ Attack animations needed more work
❌ Dying mechanic felt terrible

✅ Finally the story is so good, thank God they made it so much better after the disastrous story of BL3. I'm so glad they scrapped the existence of that stupid Ava girl
✅ Massive open world to explore. I really loved this direction they've taken. No more traversing multiple areas and looking at loading screens
✅ Gameplay is really fun. Hard mode gives you more reward with more challenge
✅ Tons of collectibles to find
✅ World Boss has been an excellent feature
✅ Can summon vehicle anytime. A huge QOL feature they added
✅ UI design is the best
✅ Lots of challenges to complete
✅ Movement is simply the best for an FPS game. Double jumping, Dashing, Air Dashing, Gliding, Slamming, Vaulting & Sliding - you name it and it's there. It can't get any better than this for an FPS game
✅ So much more content than previous games
✅ Sidequest are so good (although I hope they do more sidequest from other game like the Witcher they did)
✅ Game is being constantly updated and a lot of things have been planned for release in future roadmap

❌ ECHO-4 can get in the way of your firing scope when showing routes
❌ A lot of progression system (example like the challenges) should be synced with other vault hunters to make it more enticing to play with other vault hunters
❌ Comparison system needs an overhaul
❌ Alt fire mode should not be automatically changed when empty (the reason is that I want to use that mode immediately when cooldown is over and it was extremely annoying trying to constantly change to it)
❌ UI mods (from Nexus mods) like 'Always visible firmware' https://www.nexusmods.com/borderlands4/mods/172 and 'Directly display the module skill's maximum level and description as well as the weapon's secondary attribute' https://www.nexusmods.com/borderlands4/mods/171 should've been part of the game as I feel like these are an extremely useful feature
❌ Respec should be free of cost, a lot of modern games have now moved to a flexible system that encourages to try out different things easily
❌ Melee damage from weapon is not shown so there's no way to tell which gun has melee damage bonus
❌ Needs more post-game content

This game is just a phenomenal improvement from previous entries, and I highly recommend to any fan of FPS games. There's no other game that can really compare with a looter shooter game like Borderlands
