they took the engaging and addictive parts of a "live service" game and put it into a regular game that you just buy once - and it whips. Ghost Ship is clearly tuned into the community and dedicated to making a great experience. it's the best iteration of the "co-op mission wave shooter" that i've tried. it can feel a bit grindy at times, but the many objectives always feels like the dangling carrot to reinforce the already-fun primary gameplay.

worth noting that it's best in voice chat with a more experienced player. a full team is the best experience but you can sometimes be chided for not knowing the unspoken rules. the game relies a lot on learning from others socially to get a sense of roles, etiquette, and what exactly certain game elements Are and Do.
