Watched the anime twice, decided to give the game a try since it was on sale. Lots more details about the story than the anime. It was incredibly fun for a visual novel. Only downside is the true ending is a bit tough to get.

SPOILER FREE HINT TO GET TRUE ENDING: be careful what you text to Kurisu. If she doesn't text you for a long time, you probably messed up

Beautifully remastered. A simple, relaxing game.

This is no doubt one of the best RPG games in recent years. That says a lot when there are tough competition like The Witcher 3 and Fall Out 4. The game has a lot of humour, just the right amount of dialog, and the gameplay is simply fantastic. The environmental effects is perhaps the best feature. It's not just a gimmick, but something you can use to your full advantage. The skills for different classes are also distinct, and yet is balanced well enough that you can beat the game with a variety of group compositions. I think there are enough people who talk about what's good, so I'm going to list the two things that really disappointed me.

1. Crafting system isn't that great. I like the system itself, but most things you craft aren't that useful, and the only reason you would want to invest in crafting is to buff the weapons you find. I'm not sure how much it's improved in the Enchanced Edition, but in Classic Divinity, it's pretty meh.

2. Many people compare this game to Ultima VII and Boulder's Gate, but that really set me up for disappointment. Ultima VII is one of my all time favorites, but Divinity didn't have many of the features I loved about Ultima. There's no day/night transition, NPCs don't have a daily schedule, the number of things you can move around are quite limited, there are only two towns in this game while Utlima had several, most NPCs don't have much of a back story, etc. When I play Ultima, I can even make and sell bread to the bakers in town for some extra money. If I want, I can even go and sit at a restaurant and watch the people come and go. Divinity have none of this.
