Its all I've Ever wanted. The culmination of more than 6 years and 3 games worth of content. The definitive Warhammer Fantasy Experience.

Early Access Review
Its only $16 on sale. Easy 50 hours of gameplay, and on top of that, its actually a great game. The ancient Norse setting is wonderful, and the low-poly design is shockingly beautiful for such a simple visual style. Similar in spirit to games like Minecraft, but with a more structured approach to progression. Worth every penny, even in its current early access state it can pass as a finished game.

Play it in a group, or you will have a really hard time. Even then you will suffer.

Very simple, not worth your time. It has the complexity and depth of a free mobile game.

Unfortunately after the game's full release I have to update my review. While the game is still worth playing, it has gone from a solid 8/10 to a 6. Originally this game was pitched to me as a sort of space-engineers style spaceship demolition. Awesome. In early access the game delivered exactly that, and all was good. It had a content problem with only something like 4 ships to tackle, and some balance/bug issues, but hey, that's what EA is for, right? The issue is that in the 2 or so years that it took to come to a full release only 4 new ship types have been added, and none of them are all that interesting to be honest, ( there's no super star destroyers or borg cubes to be dismantled) it's pretty much just frigate sized cargo vessels. But my oh my how much story there is! 6+ hours of audio logs for you to listen to! Why did they add so much "story" yet no feature to enable player made custom ship creation & sharing? That feature alone would add so much variety to the gameplay loop, honestly baffles me.
I don't mean to be dismissive, I love the corporate-dystopian setting as seen in games like outer worlds, satisfactory and many others. But that isn't the reason this game was interesting. The level of storytelling at ea launch was great, it didn't interfere with the meat and potatoes of the game; ship demolition. Sometimes less is more, and an ambient approach to storytelling (see any from soft game) has proven to be an engaging approach for lore dissemination. Ultimately the developers either forgot what game they were making, or just lost passion. Either way the direction they choose to spend their time and resources on seems bizarre and I would only recommend picking this title up on a fairly heavy discount ($20 or less).
