Beat all the skirmish trials and campaign. One of the better strategy games I've played, still holds up pretty well today save the AI is pretty linear and easy to gimmick. Managing gigantic horse archer armies is one of the funnest things I've ever done in a game. Creative freedom in castle building also good.

Also beat Princess & Pig and Khan & Jackal DLCs, each had decent campaign and Khan especially a fun opponent, but really wish they had considered adding new units in them. Not worth unless on sale + you just want new missions to trudge through.

All in all, 8.5/10.

Finally beat this after 20 hours and about six attempts. Solid and very fun city builder game, but on completing it and trying again the replay value isn't really there yet. Buy to support this fantastic dev, give it a test drive, and then wait for the masterpiece.

Since my last review a year ago, I did some achievement hunting after about 3 sizable updates with another 20 hours sunk in. These updates added some new features (most critical being fishing/salt resource depots and crossbowmen) and maps. But there remains not too much different from the gameplay loop which becomes somewhat stagnant and linear not too long into the game, though there is satisfaction in watching your settlement eventually achieve near-total automation. It's still in pretty early foundations and I can't recommend it at full price. Wait for a sale, but I know that when complete this game will be a very high quality colony sim.

Base game is incredible all on its own, exactly the type of colony simulator I wanted with just the right bit of combat on the side. I got Bio-Tech and it's a huge bonus that, while kind of pricey for a DLC, I don't regret getting.

With mods I'm kind of an addict now, and it's a net-positive the devs are mod-positive. Can't recommend enough.

Pew pew. Brings back my childhood on levels I didn't think were possible. Clunky graphics are nostalgic but might be annoying to those used to the newer battlefront games, but make no mistake: this game is a classic. I've dumped so many hours into Hoth assaults and Tatooine hero battles and not felt bad for a minute. Campaign is also a blast and challenging on some levels, which I wasn't expecting.

Watch those wrist rockets and have fun tearing ♥♥♥♥ apart with a blaster, lightsaber, or starfighter.

This game is just the ultimate way to pass time. I've spent so many hours trial and erroring my way through this game and trying to unlock ships, and I'm never bored. I didn't even realize there was the "advanced mode" until one of the ship unlocks made me do it: that literally made an entire new game from something I was already enthralled with.

Very enjoyable and very fun, 10/10. I'd just caution against the learning curve, but that just might be because I'm partially brain-dead after trying to fight these aliens that suck the oxygen out of my crew's lungs.
