Mega Man 11 is a great game. It's not the best Mega Man game ever (especially when you start to consider the X, ZX, and Zero series) but it is worth the price by far. It's a return to form for the Blue Bomber, with tight controls and excellent platforming. The level design is strong, the visuals are great, the music is good too. Where it falls flat is not in poor design, it's simply that the older games were just stronger performers, for the most part. The music is good, but not nearly as good as, say, Mega Man 2. The game lacks Mega Man X's verticality and speed, but if I were to just compare it to the mainline Mega Man series, then the game is good, but not stand-out from the originals. The Double Gear system, which is new to the series, is fun, but not really game-changing. I found myself forgetting I had it as an option for much of the game, and when I did start to regularly incorporate it, I found myself relying almost exclusively on the Speed gear, using the Power Gear in a few select scenarios.

All that being said, it is very much a Mega Man game. Not a spin-off, not a spiritual successor, and not some cheap cash-grab with Mega's face plastered on it. If you enjoyed the old Mega Man games, you'll enjoy this too and I would highly recommend getting this entry. If you've never played a Mega Man game before, this game might be a great place to start, with it's modernized gameplay (like the power select wheel) and it's adjustable difficulty options. A great game at a fair price.

Easily one of my favorite RPGs I've ever played. Highly recommended. It can be a bit daunting at first, with so many things to discover and learn, but I've had more fun replaying the first act of this game dozens of times than I've had going through the entirety of a lot of other RPGs.

I highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a fun, funny time killer. The controls are simple to understand, impossible to master. The simple task of walking up a set of stairs can become a flopping, flailing mess of limbs. In one stage, I was supposed to fiddle with power cables. Having completed the puzzle, patting myself on the back, I attempted to stroll out of the room, only to end up in a huge tangle of cables and tentacles. It might have been frustrating, if it wasn't so hilarious.

Graphically, the game is nice. The art style is fun, bright and colorful, and the game runs on a consistently high frame rate through everything. The physics are fun as well. Crashing into things and watching them fly around is funny and satisfying, even if you're supposed to avoid doing some of that.

The characters are fun to interact with, and the dialogue is humorous in a refreshing way. It's all light hearted and fun the entire way through. Some of the best lines are Octodad's himself, as he blubbers and bloops incoherantly. The characters all seem to understand him, but the players are never given any real understanding of what he said, and I love it.

The one thing about the game that is sort of a downside is the game is short. I struggled pretty badly at the end, and it still only took me just under 2 hours to beat. It would have been nice to see more story to the game. There are mods, however, which might extend the life of the game, and you could always run through Co-op mode, which can be a blast.

All-in-all, this game gets my approval, for what it's worth, and it earned it with gusto. Short story mode aside, I still find the idea of returning to the game appealing, and it's price is low enough that it makes it worth it (although, for the length of the game, it might be a hair too high). I highly recommend this game to anyone, regardless of gaming experience, or preferred genres.

Early Access Review
EDIT: It seems recently that Rust has begun cracking down on the cheaters. They've also removed the zombies and I'm pleased to say that I'm happy about both of these changes. With the banhammer swinging wild, the game is safer to play and enjoy. You're still gonna have all of your hard work ruined, but at least it won't be by some teleporting, C4 hurling god. The other change, hte removal of zombies, is also good, because hte game was never about them. Let's face it, they were never that big a threat. They were too weak and too few to be a threat. The game was more about surviving your needs and fellow man from the begining. With these changes implemented, I'm happy to change my review to a positive one and recommend this game again.

Unless you really love working hard just to have everything blown up, don't bother with this game yet. Don't get me wrong, the game itself is great. For an alpha, it's really functional, with very few game breaking bugs. Exploring the wilderness feels dangerous and tense, and getting a group of friends together to build and defend a fort is awesome. But as it stands, server crashes, bad lag, and worst of all, hackers are completely ruining this otherwise great game. Valve Anti Cheat is used on every official server, but that seems to do nothing. People will still spawn in the best possible gear, teleport into your house, kill you and your friends, and then, for fun, blow up every last shread of your fort which took you days to build. I'm not concerned with the 'bandits', the players who are aggressive towards others, have a shoot-on-sight mentality, and will do anything to steal your gear. My issue comes from the vast ammount of hackers. In the future, if they can make hacking more difficult (I'm well aware that hacking can't be truely stopped), this game will be playable again, and it will be a lot of fun. But as it stands, you'll only be spending money on a tool to frustrate yourself.

Dishonored is a game about a man getting revenge. While the core idea of the story is nothing fresh or exciting, it's everything on top of the story that really matters. The world is a new place entirely, with so much lore and background running through it that it seems alive and real, NPCs interract with each other on (mostly) believable levels and the world really is concerned with you and your actions. On one playthrough, after decapitating a large ammount of people, warnings and bulletins went up all through the town about a crazed man decapitating people at night. This level of immersion is only added to by the actual gameplay. Not to spoil anything, but as you play you develope magic powers from teleporting to possessing people, stopping time and even summoning swarms of hungry rats. The powers are unique and infinitely useful, and I've never found myself hating any of them. Each one is subject to your creativity. You could use rats to distract gaurds or stop time to kill a bunch of people in the blink of an eye, but you could also summon rats, stop time, put a bomb on the rat, then posess the rat and run it into a room full of badguys. The game is very creatively done and inspires creativity in the player as well. I bought this game on it's release date and still find new ways of going about a level or killing my targets. It's a very well built game and rarely suffers from glitches, but it is a pretty linear game and after a while, you figure out where every guard is at which time and can freely move about unseen out of basically muscle memory. Even so, I find myself coming back to this game again and again, trying to get every achievement or just trying to find a new way to kill someone. At the end of it all, Dishonored is a very fun game that will keep you entertained for hours. At the new low price of $29.99, it is very much worth a buy and gets my full reccomendation. I really hope they can make a sequel to it.
