Pay attention to the negative reviews. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IF YOU CAME FOR THE STORY.

I was so excited for this game, it looked cool as heck and there was a lot of talk about it. I genuinley wanted to know what this game would be when it was finished and eagerly payed attention to it. When I started up the game, I loved it. I thought it was so interesting and really took a fresh look on games. But then I went back and re-did some of the text choices you have at the start of the game. Nothing that you select impacts the game at all and the backstory is still the same even if you pick different things (i.e. no matter your first choice, you are still Juilia's boyfriend; no matter what dog you get, the dog does not impact what you do with the robber; there is no way to alter Julia's character, your interaction with her, or her role in the story.)

I was hoping that at the very least, these choices would impact how you interact with the voice on the radio, Delilah. They don't. That is what is most frustrating about this game. It was going somewhere with the story, somewhere that could have been really interesting and actually communicated something about depression and mental illness. But it doesn't. The entire story does not matter, even the things you say to Delilah do not matter. You can blame her for everything, you can act like she is your new girlfriend, hey you could even conspire to burn down all of the national park. But it just does not matter at all. I just finished the game and am so dissapointed and frustrated at how I just spent the last 5 hours of my life that I cannot be bothered to give this game more ♥♥♥♥.

TL;DR
The game does a good job of making you think that your choices matter but in reality they do not. You are going to spend the whole game invested in what is happening in the story but then as the game comes to a close, you realize that someone got lazy and didn't finish what they started so they decided to just put out the game and rake in the money becuse they know that everyone was drippinmg wet to experience this game.

What this game does very well is capture the setting of a forest and making you feel like you are there when in reality you are holding w. Props to the voice actors, they really did do well. But the stooooorryry uughghghgh. How can you make a game all about being alone in the woods and not give us a story?

I thought point-and clicks were dead. I was at first interested to find that Elijah Wood voiced Shay. I purchased it and found a very deep, interesting story that can be found to entertain people of all ages. I highly reccomend this game to anyone interested in a fun story with lots to offer.

One of the best gaming experiences I've ever had. Not so fun to play slolo, however if you have a reliable team of friends or players, it makes the game so much more enjoyable. Extremly cooperative and forces you and your crew to work together.
