UPDATE AFTER 20k HOURS OF CS:

I have been playing CS for over 20 years. I grew up with the game and have certainly played over 20k hours across all versions. But it's never been as bad as it is now.

  • The biggest problem is the lack of an anti-cheat tool. I don't think I've ever seen so many cheaters. Both on high elo (22k+ Premier) and on low elo. These are not inconspicuous hacks. Players bunnyhop through the maps and just give headshots. The bad thing is that I've even had games where 9 out of 10 players were hacking. How do I know that? Well, when 9 players jump through the map with a scout and at the beginning it says "HvH?" (hack vs. hack?), the scahe is pretty clear. Unfortunately, that's not uncommon.
  • If you want to play cheat-free, you have to switch to Faceit, an external platform. Only there is it still possible to play almost cheat-free.
  • Modes available in CS:GO such as gungame, retake, warzone etc. have no longer been part of the game for 6 months.
  • The competitive map pool has not been changed and there are no new maps available.
  • Many professional players complain that the game is in a poor state and that new bugs appear regularly.
  • The update density is low. The game is neglected in comparison to Dota2.
  • No great events like in Dota2, no new features, no operations, nothing.
  • CS2 is now a cash cow that is being milked. It's all about the money, the community doesn't matter. You can see this quite clearly from the fact that no new content has been released yet, but of course there is a box of skins that you can open for money. This is a slap in the face to all players who enjoy playing CS and who are not interested in collecting beautiful objects.
  • Prime status, which was previously used as protection against cheaters and additional verification, can now simply be purchased for €15.
  • There are no events like those offered by Dota2.
  • Not a single new operation with creative ideas since release. But of course there is a Major Season Pass for a lot of money, where you are fobbed off with a few major crates and a participation medal.
  • Professional organisations are now withdrawing from CS eSports because online qualifiers are infested with cheaters, as there is a lot of money at stake (IKLA case)
  • It was once thought that the tournament density would be reduced and qualification for Valve tournaments would, it was rumoured, be carried out via the Premier Mode. However, this is not possible without a functioning AC.
  • Additional player and team stats, which every site such as Faceit or leetify offers, are not available, or only in a very slimmed-down version.

I could probably go on for an hour listing the things that bother me. It's simply disappointing what the CS brand has become. The worst thing is that you are even rewarded with very high player numbers. Shame on you.
