was my multiplayer game of the year until i’d found out about the use of ai voices. this studio got flamed for this same thing when the finals initially released and im shocked to find out they’ve actually done it again.

i guess that’s my bad. regardless, properly pay and utilize voice actors. same goes for any other artist.

this is a step in the right direction, especially following 2042. some things though.

combat is way too fast paced for a battlefield game. maps are built where no matter where you are some one has an angle on you at all times and it seems that you’re powerless to prevent yourself from dying. they also largely lack verticality, are somewhat small and tend to funnel players into choke points where it becomes a meat grinder.


weapons are pretty busted right now. assault rifles are effectively useless as they are out classed at mid/long range by dmrs and sniper rifles and close range by smgs/shotguns. smgs are especially bad, namely the mp7 which can laser beam an enemy 50m away as long as you control the recoil.

air vehicles are at a constant danger of being immediately taken out by anti air, which isn’t unique to the newer battlefields but has been a problem i’d like to see addressed.

finally the grind to get certain weapons and attachments is pretty hardcore and pretty ridiculous for anyone who has a job and life outside of the game.

ALL THIS BEING SAID: the game is pretty fun. they’re off on the right foot and a lot of things can be fixed with updates. i hope they don’t disappoint.

the game is actually quite good. a few bugs here and there but overall enjoyable and i enjoy the tension of trying to get loot from point A to B without getting your ship blasted to hell and back and losing everything. real pirate experience and never a dull moment.

my issue is that while playing with some homies we were attacked, which would be fine, but my friend was singled out specifically for being trans and called slurs among other things. i wouldnt be leaving a negative review if this game didnt expect me to have been recording the entire incident as it occured in order to report the players in question. review will change when a better system for monitoring chat is implemented.

why you would get on such a queer game where you acquire gold to spend on cute outfits to dress up your little pirate to be a bigot is beyond me.

because of the manchildren boycotting the game it is now exclusively for the girls and gays (when it isnt crashing)
