They actually released a patch preview video for the games first 'major patch' and spent over half the video talking about the fact they added Microtransactions.

I really can't recommend this game in it's current state. Any of the lessons CA learnt from the release of Warhammer 2 and it's subsequent DLC's seems to have been forgotten. Skill trees, unit trees, tech trees are all incredibly boring and bland, and provide no genuine benefit.

The main Realms of Chaos campaign is 'fun', until you get to the 'story' element of it, entering the realms is a massive chore and artificially elongates a campaign to insane lengths. And in typical CreativeAssembly fashion, the AI just cheats in the Realms to provide a fake level of difficulty.

There are no longer any matched combat animations, so you get to see two monstrous units hitting the air and the ground, while a HP bar slowly moves down.

The game can be incredibly buggy, with CTD's and even corrupting saves, making you question why you even bother playing it if you're just going to lose progress.

Romance mode was a really cool feature that i'm hoping to see in future Total War titles.

Beautiful world, combat is far better than Origins, Story is very good and naval combat is fun. Excellent game.

People are mad that there are more women in this game than there used to be. They ignore the countless examples of female Generals in Classical Europe, because the Daily Stormer told them women are subhuman.

It's a good game that had a lot of issues that've been fixed and it's now very worth playing.

To the people complaining about it not working in Windows 10 - Set the compatability mode to XP in the Windows Settings.

To the people complaining about resolution - The game is 12 years old. You can get mods at subsim for higher resolutions.

I love this game. It's ridiculous fun, can be ridiculously difficult if you turn realism all the way up. Would definitely recommend it to anyone remotely curious about it.

The game is legitimately $70 in the UK and $80 in mainland Europe.

It's not worth that, at all. It's so horribly optimized, with so many bugs, that if a AAA studio released this game the internet would be in uproar.

And you're paying AAA price.
