tl;dr: game sucks and stutters like hell on top of it.

It starts off pretty well and gets steadily worse and worse the longer you play. By the end I was just completing the game out of spite and not enjoying it at all.

The combination of slow movement speed + massive, empty areas makes exploration a chore. If you played Black Myth Wukong, recall how awful it felt moving around Thunderclap Temple[static1.thegamerimages.com]. Wide open flat areas that make you feel like a roomba. Awful.

NPC questlines will fail even more aggressively than what you might be used to with From games. If you talk to certain NPC's they will literally teleport you away to some other area and/or lock you out of entire endings.

A lot of boss animations are bad. They have Margit Syndrome - hold the limb/weapon over your head for 30 seconds, and then drop it on you in 1 frame with no warning. Winning will require you to memorize timings as opposed to being able to interact with animations that make sense.

Almost all exploration is pointless and designed to irritate you. Every lone enemy/visible item pick up is most likely an ambush or environmental trap. Eventually you will figure out that the best way to play the game is to not bother. Just run through everything and grab shrines, for your sanity.

I feel like the game is also designed in such a way as to waste the maximum amount of your time. I could go on about boss run ups (way too long), areas being way too big, movement speed being too slow, but the big one is ELEVATORS. Elevators need to be 10 times faster/shorter. Look at this video. The elevator takes 50 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ seconds to come down, and you have to ride it back up for another 50 seconds. Do they do this deliberately to annoy players or have them spend more time in the game or what? What the actual ♥♥♥♥ are they thinking when they play their own game and say "yeah, this is good"? This sort of time wasting ♥♥♥♥ is present everywhere in the game.

Traversal stutters are present, the usual unreal engine crap.

All that aside it looks good and the combat is fun. When you're not busy having your time wasted.

It's a masterpiece. This is where final fantasy should've gone, not whatever we got with 16.
