This was my first introduction into this style of game, and I really enjoyed the experience. A lot of reviewers comparing it to XCOM and that is a title I wanted to try but it seemed like a dumbed down version of XCOM so to see if I would enjoy the genre I gave it a shot. The story is great, the characters are fun, but I don't see myself getting a lot of replay value out of it. There is no incentive to beat the game again after I tried it on easy. I was hoping maybe some type of buff or even cards remaining and the opportunity to add onto cards. The actual content is maybe 15-20 hours on easy if you are a completionist you might 25-30 on easy. All in all if you are wanting to get into this type of game Hard West 2 is a great game at the price point. The only true "negative" I could find is the lack of info on buffs and debuffs, I had to join the discord to find out what "Bloodlust" did and even then the responses did not sound definite. 8.7/10

Zero reason to do anything in this game. No story, no incentive to leave your hut beyond foraging for some food.

I really enjoyed DA1 and am enjoying DA2 a lot. The game is not blowing any minds for content but it is a fun, easy(maybe too easy) game that you can just casually load up and play. I feel the devs took their time to really make something special and it shows. I didn't quite like all the changes from DA1 at first but it grew on me. I am always looking for a fun turn based game and this has nailed the itch. Only thing I wish they'd add is a way to see the levels of all your areas without having to click each one, maybe I overlooked it on my first play-through but having to click every station and my bad memory I never knew which ones I finished.

Let me start by saying I hardly ever write reviews, for video games, products, or really anything, so excuse the poor formatting. This game had been on my wishlist for quite some time, and after seeing it on sale I finally decided to pick it up and check it out. The first thing that struck me was the delivery of the game, very pleasing and it made me feel involved. Then I was sucked in by the voice acting and visual aspects of the game. The dialog choices really made me feel like I had a choice, and I was actually out in that damn forrest. I have not played a game in some time that made me "feel". It made me want to go volunteer and run away and live a different life. It made me mad, and worried for the characters. If there is a thing as a video game novel, this game would take the cake for me. Before this I tried Vanishing of Ethan Carter and couldn't quite get into it so I was afraid of what this game might be, but all my fears were put to ease with Firewatch and honestly gave this type of game a new life for me.

However, with all good must come bad right? You are absolutely right. My total in game time is 3 hours. Just three, and I finished it, while I have heard and read about its replayability I have zero desire to do anything again. It is sort of like those books where you choose your fate by going to certain pages, I don't want to change my fate. A game that sucked me into this emotional rollercoaster just seemed to end way too soon. I did get the game on sale, so I felt my money was well spent, however I am glad I did not pay full price for the game as I feel it would have swayed my judgement due to the short playtime.

All in all I would recommend this game, if it is on sale. It was a lot of fun and I have not stopped thinking/talking about it to my friends, but that same talking about it comes with a warning. A warning that this game is very short. I wasn't looking for a 50+ hours of gametime game, but if I can finish it in 3 hours it feels a little like a college project that blew up, in fact even Stardew Valley lasted longer. It may sound like I am bashing the game, but I truly loved it, just wish there was more of it!
