Fun bad game

My favorite game of all time. Shopkeeping, adventuring, recruitable characters and such all in one little charming doujin-soft package. Capitalism, ho!

Note: I largely played this offline at the time (2011) so play-time ended up unrecorded. It's a solid 25-30 hours if you enjoy it!

I figured I should drop a line while I'm on this page. Don't bother with this game.

I started playing this game during its various beta periods which preceded its debut on Steam, and I never paired my main account to Steam when it did, hence the low hours my review will display. I continued to play for about two years straight before I let this game fade from my mind - nothing short of what the developers had done. All activity from whomever continued to update for the past two years strips down to bi-weekly, pay-to-open cosmetic promos and years-old recycled events. That's it. Most of the actual content additions were condensed in the game's first year, and realistically, much of it was already developed during its beta period, before they had a publisher to push the game out.

Several of the reviews here already express the various issues that arose and plague the game, so I won't bother reiterating them other than the sentiment that Spiral Knights could have been far more, and most likely isn't the Zelda-like comfy co-op dungeon adventuring it once shone for.
