Early Access Review
This turned out for the best. Avoid like the plague, this project and the IP were sold off to a private equity firm a while ago.

KSP 2 died so that Dean Hall's Kitten Space Program could live. Follow that project instead.

They were competing for the contract for KSP 2 but ultimately lost it to Intercept because they focused more on the technicals rather than art. Intercept's approach to KSP 2 would never solve the issues plagued by KSP 1 (physx joints, inefficient part simulation plagued by OOP, unity shaders, etc). Instead of fixing them they doubled down on the same approach; no amount of optimization would ever fix this project. Fixing it and making it a true successor to KSP 1 would necessitate ripping out its skeleton and replacing it -- an impossibility due to the amount of time, skill and investment involved.

The developers of this game are geniuses. Upon starting the game you're greeted with an excellent character customization screen; you sit on this screen meticulously creating your character while your playtime steadily increases in the background. After creating your character and start playing the game you slowly realize that the level design is horrendous, "invasions" are boring and serve the sole function of allowing the devs to check a box on their list of features they need to implement for the game to be more like Dark Souls, and worst of all... you spent so much time on character customization that it is no longer possible to refund the game. Well played.

The multiplayer co-op works well.

Contrary to a lot of the reviews on this page I don't mind the progression system in this game. I liked the game, but the devs have completely disappeared and have ignored their community (players & moderators) since release so I can't recommend it. I hope they are well and this isn't due to some extraneous circumstance, but their support e-mail is still operational so it's not like there isn't someone in the background operating things. I waited a year or so before writing this just to make sure, but there hasn't even been a tweet with a couple words this entire time.

I played this at release, but never got around to writing a review.

In general this is a good dungeon crawler. The blood/corruption mechanic is cool but gets stale after a while. It has a varied enough class system and there are respec mechanics.

IMO the dungeons quickly became wayyy too long, tedious and unrewarding. I quickly went from exploring every inch to wanting to get out asap. That said, this game allows you to GREATLY speed up combat - if this feature didn't exist I probably would have stopped playing.

The horror difficulty is pretty brutal if you skip some grinding or level up bad skills, but hilariously easy once you setup a proper party (with few exceptions). I feel as though someone could make some bad decisions and get destroyed by mobs/bosses, but the respec mechanic is generous enough that I don't think you'd get the feeling of hopelessness even on the horror difficulty.

The story was OK (albeit predictable), but the dialogue is pretty painful to read at times.

I'll probably buy the second one once it's translated.

Great roguelike. Only writing this review to say that they've been pushing weekly game updates for over 3 years. The only exception to this is when they take 2-3 weeks instead for a bigger content update and they announce it beforehand.

Early access done right in the otherwise sea of garbage.

Fun platformer with well thought out puzzles. None of the temple puzzles were too difficult, just enough to make you think for a little bit. Sometimes the items you need to give NPCs or use to move forward with the story are a bit of a stretch or intentionally misleading. I liked the red herring items and didn't mind the 4 item inventory limit. The other reviews summarize the pros/cons well.

It is a bit buggy. It's easy to go out of bounds and/or softlock yourself. If you save after getting softlocked your playthrough comes to an abrupt end.

Looks goofy, but it's one of the best "true" metroidvanias I've ever played. I would group it with games like Hollow Knight, La-Mulana & SotN. Great music too!

Short & sweet game with multiple thought out difficulties to get through. Has what you'd expect in a fangame (platforming, avoidance, basic gimmicks, bosses) without the traps. Looking forward to the magic tower mode :)

Grats on releasing an I wanna be the Guy fangame on steam with original assets!
