I have reached a point where I often burnout halfway through a game. Be it storydriven, multiplayer or otherwise.

This game had me hooked, sinking into it 14 hours in one sitting and completing my first playthrough with many more to come.

The subjects this game touches upon are handled beautifully. The characters are well-written, the dialogue and choices matter and feel alive, genuine and sincere.

A tearjerker, laughs and stresses from forgetting it's a survival game. Not to mention it's beautiful artistically - sound, music and graphics.

If you've got the money, I highly recommend getting it at full price.

I stand in the trench along with my squad. With BAR in hand, outpost set up and hardened fighters at my side I feel confident we will have this. With the rest of our forces pushing on the last point, we will easily secure the day for the US.
We scour the grassland infront of us, as suddenly the sound of a grenade bouncing off of the dirt announces itself, and the squad proceeds to scatter away from the sound as the grenade explodes, taking our Squad Leader out in a cloud of blood and limbs. Machine gun fire rips out immediately from the direction we were just watching, forcing us to the dirt. Around the corner they emerge. The Germans.

I squeeze the trigger and immediately kill the first man, as the second one returns to cover, shooting a panicked shot in my direction and piercing my leg. With his luger, the wound isn't serious. Yet I scream out for our medic and spin my head around in the search for him. I see him dash towards me, rifle in hand, the light behind him as if sent from the gods above.
A hollow thud forces its way through the otherwise deafening sounds of gunfire, as the only thing that remains of my saviour is his shins and boots. I get up, and immediately dash into cover before artillery starts raining over our heads. I check the map. Our entire attacking force is gone, all at once.

And so are the defenders. I once again let my BAR rip, hoping to supress whoever is shooting in my direction. I hear another sound of a grenade cluttering around, before smokes fills the room I've otherwise huddled myself in. Footsteps. Automatic rifle fire rips through the room, and gets me straight in my head. I didn't even get to bandage myself from my previous battle wound. The defence is lost.

Or well, thats how 25% of the game feels. 60% of it is travelling and banter, and the last 15% is "RESPAWN IN: 10"
