If you love a game with plenty of opportunities of good laughs and miss communication moments, this is that game.

5 Hours in, absolutely love the game. I have plenty of friends that I want to show this game to and test my experience with them! There are bugs, but some of the bugs got me laughing so hard that tears were coming from my face.

If you need a visual key, think of one person getting something stuck in the RV, then follow that up with a three smoking-cig man stack up the RV's engine getting said thing unstuck while WHEEZING IN THE MORNING HOURS.

Love it. This is a game to have fun with friends, and for 7$ I'd do it AGAIN (aka gifting it to friends maybe.)

I hope there's future maps or more challenge that await us.

TLDR - Is it worth it right now? Well.. the price is a bit high and I'd wait till there's more but I think so if you're okay with the current content.

So - let me just say I'm jumping in without knowing much about this project - I haven't been following it like some here - plus only about 4 hours in. I was walking into this game thinking there was the bare minimum of customization and just a place to chat, what I got was choices and loads I MEAN LOADS of customization for it being pre-alpha(?). Once I knew how the leveling worked it was pretty straight forward and at most it would've probably took to level 1 - 50 (the current max I believe) is an hour or so.

My current issues with the game?

Well once you're capped at 50, there's not much to do other than fly around or sit and talk with the community (not a bad thing) so if you're planning on getting it now, do note that you'll reach a stopping point rather quick. There's also lag teleportation that drives me insane sometimes but I was expecting at least some issues with it. There's also barren parts of the current world which you can get lost in really quick because there's no compass or map really. If there was a compass I feel like I'd get less lost, and trust me weather conditions will throw you off track a lot. The night time is also wayyyyyyy too dark - I mean turning off visible shadows helps but I prefer not having to do this. Night vision could use some serious work as well, I missed a lot of nodes not being able to see things even with NV on.

Pros? Well, customization is great.

I haven't bumped into two dragons that looked the same unintentionally yet - which is boastful for a start honestly. The photo mode is an absolute win. Swapping to the keyboard movement photo mode is what really made me love the game - you get so many photos from one pose just with how many angles you can snap it at, it's really well done and I give props to that. The community is really helpful from my current experiences leveling with them. The fact that there is a working level system is pretty great too, and I hope we eventually earn exp with crafting as well.

So with that, take this current release with a grain of salt, and if you aren't content with what's currently here I recommend waiting for a bigger discount or when the game comes more to life.

You could say this is semi-approved by me. Oh, no puns? Gotcha. I've played this game a lot off stream, so do not let my hours fool you.

When you're playing this game, you can easily get carried away. An hour turns into four. However unless you want to listen to continous sounds of trucks, cars, police sirens blaring during said hours, it's best to have music handy or have the in-game radio on if your internet supports it.

Ever since my last copy of the game broke, I've been keeping my eye for a deal to come sweep me into buying the Steam edition of American Truck Simulator.

This game is not however, worth it's full asking price. Get this game when there's a deal happening, other wise you'll grudge on yourself for having bought the game full price, not to mention if you're buying packs with it. It's not a horrible game - in fact it is one of the most attention grabbing simulators out there with at least 3,000+ people in game daily as of now, I've seen the number vary but it's still holding itself up with players who've played well over 1,000 hours. Sometimes you can even let the game run itself if you have workers for you as you free roam, but it's better to be hands on with your team. It's not horrible - but it isn't the best thing in the world, and as it stands now unless a huge update hits it with more states, or something worth gasping over - I wouldn't take it full price.

If you're reading my review now as a deal is happening, save yourself time and get the game before the deal is up.
